President Trump Would Invite Russian President Putin To The White House At 'The Right Time'

Reuters: Trump says he would invite Putin to White House, but not now

PARIS/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump, who is fighting off allegations of ties between his election campaign and Moscow, said he would invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to the White House but added that now was not the right time for that.

The Republican president drew criticism last week from Democrats who accused him of not pressing Putin hard enough at a meeting they held in Germany over Moscow's alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign.

Accusations that Moscow meddled in the election and colluded with the Trump campaign have dominated Trump's first months in office. Russia denies meddling, and Trump says there was no collusion.

Trump's comments came as he defended his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., who met with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 presidential campaign after he was told she might have damaging information about Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

WNU Editor: Russian President Putin will be focused on his election campaign in the first 3 months of next year .... so it will have to be later this year .... or after March, 2018. I am betting that they will be having a full state visit and summit this fall.

  1. That's a shame a critically geopolitical solution is shadowed by many petty domestic problems.
A partnership with Russia will decrease the growing link between Russia and China.
China is our problem now, but it will be a Russian one too in the future, and Putin know that. But he has little choice as long as the West will be apart with Russia.
Within NATO each nation have a different opinion but be still allied. It could be the same with Russia.
NATO is obsolete, we have to create the 21st century alliance based on new rules for all the Christian cultured countries which will cover all the North of the Earth.

  2. Unfortunately these same crazy people want to inflame tensions with China too!! "25,000 Chinese spies?!!?" What complete, utter, and ridiculous nonsense. These people are complete and total idiots. If they had half a brain and since they MUST have a new Cold War with Russia in spite of the fact that Russia doesn't want it, is doing everything they can to desfuse this that they can, and showing exemplary patience above and beyond what could reasonably be expected they could have enlisted China as bulwark against Russia.

After all China is our biggest trading partner. They might have been willing. These idiots never pursued this avenue. Since they've decided we MUST have a new Cold War, it might have been prudent to think such things through. Unfortunately these people are to stupid to know they are stupid.

Keep in mind America barely survived Cold War 1. Ronald Reagan wisely negotiated an end to it. We do NOT need to repeat it.
