TIME: U.S. Military: We'll Stay in Puerto Rico Until 'All Needs Are Met'

Federal officials in Puerto Rico have reaffirmed the U.S. military's intention to stay in the commonwealth until "all needs are met" as the island struggles to rebuild following catastrophic damage from Hurricane Maria.

Both Army Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan and John Rabin of the Federal Emergency Management Agency said Friday that agencies are working together to assist the people of Puerto Rico after the hurricane.

  2. Gee do ya think she might be the first to do something like that?

"the island struggles to rebuild" Sound like a very optimistic comment. I imagine at this point they are struggling to survive with the rebuilding to start maybe next year assuming they do survive.

  3. How else would we expect the San Juan mayor to act.

    She supports terrorists.

There is this thing called a plebiscite. The pro-independence people have not won it. If they do, Puerto Rico can do what it wants.

Is that a prediction or political grandstanding?

We'll remember that next yea on September 2018 and draw the appropriate conclusions about wisdom.

  5. PR will not leave to form their own nation. Prior to hurricane which devestated that place, they were 50% loweer in medium income than even the worst state in US mainland, ie, Mississippi, and housing very expensive. As thing worsen expect to see mass immigration (legal) to mainland..and no try to form their own nation.
No matter what one thinks of a mayor under great stress, Trump dumb remarks will cost him lots and lots of votes down the road, should he run again.

  6. Puerto Rico has been dodging big hurricanes for 80 years, in 1899 they had a Cat 4, 1928 Cat 5, and 1932 Cat 4. This is their wake up call, time to do things differently, build better, and have a better organized response in place, because whether it's in 2 years or 100 years they will get hit again by a big hurricane.

  7. PR dodging hurricanes etc...true...and now Miami, NJ coast, vigin islands etc...clear them out and move them all to inland US

    1. Miami has been hit by big hurricanes in recent history and they have rebuilt accordingly...Florida Keys are another example, major damage but they were ready. Puerto Rico has no living reference for this kind of storm other than "hope it doesn't hit us"...and now we get to see those results.

  8. Azinio I predict this. September 2018 Puerto Rico will be flooded if not still, then from the new hurricane.

I took issue to this ""...assuming they do survive."

What are you expecting a decimation? I take issue with that. It seems to me that if there are deaths they will be concentrated in the vicinity of the terrorist lover mayor.

The person I talked to said the fast growing trees and stuff falls over in a hurricane and cuts the power lines. In the lead up to a hurricane there is not time to cut it down.

So the power outages do not surprise me. They are not Trump's fault.

  10. Take issue on my statement "if they do survive" if you want but answer my previous question. Is the Navy Seal that killed the little girl your hero?
