U.S. State Department Urges Both Iran And Iraq To Show Restraint With The Kurds


Washington Examiner: 'Cautious' State Department asks Iran, Iraq to avoid 'violence' with Kurds

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's team on Thursday discouraged Iran and Iraq from coordinating military operations against a key U.S. partner in northern Iraq.

"We would oppose any violence if that were to take place," State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in response to reports that this kind of coordination was being considered. "We hope our voices will be heard in a very strong fashion that we oppose violence on any side of this."

WNU Editor: The Iraqis are too weak to take on the Kurds militarily, and the Iranians are focused on the war in Syria. For now .... there will be no Iranian or Iraqi "violence" against the Kurds.
