Times of Israel: Israel’s first female tank crews set for deployment as critics fire fresh volley
Pilot program, and women combat soldiers in general, meet stiff criticism, with dozens of reservist officers calling for an end to co-ed army service.
The Israeli army’s first female combat tank operators will finish their initial training next week and move to deployment along the borders of southern Israel, as part of a pilot program to assess fuller gender integration in the Armored Corps.
The development comes amid a renewed backlash against women in combat positions and co-ed military service in general. On Sunday, dozens of former officers sent a letter to Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman calling for him to scale back the integration of women into fighting units.

I hope they don't make the ladies do paraller parking with a tank.
ReplyDeleteThere's women who can actually park without any issues. It's just that -on average- they suck at it. I'm sure these tank driving ladies have been selected among many and are better than the average female at driving, parking and spotting objects at distance (helpful to a tank operator).
