New York Times: Mueller Removed Top Agent in Russia Inquiry Over Possible Anti-Trump Texts
WASHINGTON — The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, removed a top F.B.I. agent this summer from his investigation into Russian election meddling after the Justice Department’s inspector general began examining whether the agent had sent text messages that expressed anti-Trump political views, according to three people briefed on the matter.
The agent, Peter Strzok, is considered one of the most experienced and trusted F.B.I. counterintelligence investigators. He helped lead the investigation into whether Hillary Clinton had mishandled classified information on her private email account, and then played a major role in the investigation into links between President Trump’s campaign and Russia.
But Mr. Strzok was reassigned this summer from Mr. Mueller’s investigation to the F.B.I.’s human resources department, where he has been stationed since. The people briefed on the case said the transfer followed the discovery of text messages in which Mr. Strzok and a colleague reacted to news events, like presidential debates, in ways that could appear critical of Mr. Trump.

WNU Editor: In view of how overwhelmingly slanted Robert Mueller's team of prosecutors are linked with the Democrat Party, the texts that got this FBI agent to be dismissed in this manner must be really over the top. The fact that he also lead the investigation into whether Hillary Clinton had mishandled classified information on her private email account should also be raising alarm bells in the Justice Department right now. Unfortunately .... the politicization of the FBI is nothing new, one only has to look at the case of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe .... Grassley suggests deputy FBI director may have violated Hatch Act (The Hill).

Nope. The IG's just trying to make sure that Wingnuttia via Alex Jones can't "pizzagate" Trump's eventual demise.
What the IG doesn't understand is Wingnuttia doesn't need whole cloth, or any cloth to create conspiracy theories that the Base will belive.
Eg:

"The Justice Department looked into the contributions and employment histories of all of Mueller’s hires and determined them consistent with the rules of professional responsibility."
"
Federal regulations prohibit the Justice Department from considering the political affiliation or political contributions of career appointees, including those appointed to the Special Counsel’s Office. So the implication that Mueller is making politically motivated hires is quite a stretch, as he is legally prohibited from considering their political affiliations"
Meuller and roughly half of his legal team are registered Republicans.
Just as in Wingnuttia Bush 43 was a "secret Democrat", a RINO,
By the end of Meuller's Investigation all of Team Meuller and even Trump, will have been secret Democrats, just like Roy Moore paedofillia is being excused in Wingnuttia because "at the time, he was a Democrat".

ReplyDeleteyeah OK.
The removal of the FBI agent has nothing to do with Alex Jones. This is a serious investigation where even though the political histories of some of these people are known, it is understood that they all must conform to the law and rules that are there. And IMHO .... with a few minor exceptions .... they have.
And yes. Mueller is an establishment Republican. But so what? I dare say that many (if not most) establishment Republicans would like to see Trump gone more than many progressives like yourself. But Mueller has conducted himself as best as he could with the resources that he has and he has not prejudiced the investigation with his political history. His mandate is clear, and if he finds wrong doing I am confident that he will find it and make a case in court. Who is against that? The wingnuts you are so obsessed by? Yeah OK. There are some who also want Mueller gone .... or better still .... have him investigate the Clintons. But they are not driving the agenda here .... not even close. As for what Mueller has found so far .... no surprises there .... this has all been predicted for months. But on the important question of Russian collusion to influence the election which is what I am interested in .... ignoring that stupid report by Brian Ross from ABC news yesterday, as of tonight there is nothing to indicate that any statutes have been violated.
Some of the bs that comes out of these limp wrist is amazing
