Here Are The Areas In The US Most Likely To Be Hit In A Russian Nuclear Attack

Business Insider: Putin just said Russia has 'unstoppable' nukes — here are the areas in the US most likely to be hit in a nuclear attack

* Russian President Vladimir Putin announced new, supposedly unstoppable nuclear weapons that could hit the US in a matter of minutes.
* Putin may be overselling it, but Russia certainly has the nuclear offensive capabilities to destroy much of the US, and there's nothing the US can do to stop it.
* Yet the likely targets of a Russian nuclear strike would be counterintuitive, and places like New York and Los Angeles may be spared for more high-value targets in North Dakota or Montana.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia had developed four new "unstoppable" nuclear systems devised specifically to render US missile defenses "useless," and even played animations of launches toward the US.

The systems include an super-fast underwater drone, a nuclear-powered "unlimited" range cruise missile, a new intercontinental ballistic missile with multiple independent warheads, and a hypersonic missile to be fired from jets.

  2. BI is so clueless. Day in, day out they set a standard for the Ben Rhodes school of journalism.
They left out all the national labs dedicated to national security, the place where America's nuclear physicists live and work.
They left out Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio.
    They left out Area 51.
They left out scores of facilities in Alaska and Hawaii.

They forgot that Russia has far more ICBM warheads than American targets.

  3. I agree with WNU.As I was a participate of nuclear bomb drills in elementary school. What people forget is what won the big wars was defeating the enemies will to fight. This was done with firebombing all Manor of civilian cities and manufacturing. If it results in nuclear war expect clear decisive winner. Just my opinion.

  4. Absolute nonesense if it doesn't include San Francisco/the silicon valley area where the heart of US tech research is and trillions and trillions of future dollars (part of the gdp) are at stake until rebuilt which easily could take decades if not longer. Dozens of not hundreds of trillions of dollars at stake over that timespan.
