The Hill: Trump: U.S. troops will be out of Syria 'very soon'
President Trump said on Thursday that the U.S. would be out of Syria "very soon" in the fight against ISIS.
"We're knocking the hell out of ISIS. We'll be coming out of Syria, like, very soon," President Trump said in an Ohio speech focused on infrastructure, referring to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria terror group.
"Let the other people take care of it now. Very soon. Very soon, we're coming out. We're going to have a hundred percent of the caliphate, as they call it. Sometimes referred to as land, taking it all back. Quickly, quickly," he continued.

Right...stop supporting anti Assad forces...the heck with the Kurds...let Russia and Hezbolla help their ally Assad...Lose a few American lives? for what?
ReplyDeleteHave not seen Nancy Pelousy nor the scheister Senator from New York say we should protect the Kurds.
ReplyDeleteThe Kurds are going to be forced to bargain with Assad, get some autonomy, give up the oil fields and the border regions, which is a lot, but I'm assuming they would rather let Assad gain the upper hand than Turkey...and if you wait too long then Turkey will roll in.
ReplyDeleteAS
ReplyDeleteThe Dems supported our activities in Syria, like it or not. They never said let us pull out. Never. As we grew more and more passive under Obama's successor, it seems the Russians grew more aggressive. and that is FACT
Get some autonomy, give up the oil fields and the border regions
ReplyDelete1) Give up the oil field
2) Give up border regions
3) They are not getting autonomy
That is Assad's deal.
Assad is kind of a Schumer like that except he won't say there is a compromise.
But Assad is better & more honest than Schumer.
He won;t like about a compromise when there is no compromise and he also won't rush to the cameras saying there was a compromise when there wasn't and then incessantly lie and demonize his opponents.
1) Russia entered the war under Obama
ReplyDelete2)Russia started aggressively bombing under Obama
3) Obama's ramped up bombing campaign was a #Metoo thing.
People study bombing campaigns Fred. They study # of sorties, target lists & results. They can tell when bombing changes tempo and other things due to direction or misdirections from above. Maybe one of you fellows in the humanities, the history department, if they are honest could tell you about such things. You could study the BDA of Rolling Thunder versus linebacker. My thought is that you buds in the history department are more likely to know transexual history than military history.
4) I never heard nor saw a congressionzal Dim rush to the microphone over Kobane. That and BamBam's reluctance to bomb micro-refineries tells me everything I need to know about the pud.
everything you need to know you missed: decency
ReplyDeleteSyrian SDF says not informed of any U.S. withdrawal plan
Russia entered and was not doing much of anything. That changed when Trump took office...no matter what: Russia gained non-stop and now Putin butt kisser says we will crawl away and let Russia and Hezbollah take all...that, sir, is your hero and what he is doing...Loser

"A former CIA director says concerns about environmental impact have prevented the White House from bombing oil wells that finance the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)."
So Putin comes in start bombing the oil infrastructure to defund ISIS and Obama goes "Me Too! Me TOO!"

Trump as usual is confusing people. Remember he has said repeatedly over the last 2 years that he won't telegraph troop movements like Obama was doing. He most likely isn't now.
ReplyDeleteThe US can be involved in combat over Syria without having troops on Syrian soil engaging in combat. Kurdish forward air controllers might have been trained by now...for example.
And the pu·sil·lan·i·mous Obama only started hitting the oil infrastructure it seems after the Paris attack and he felt that he had to or else his poll numbers would sink lower.
ReplyDeleteAfter all that he leafletted the oil tankers first. "Ya know paper cuts and all that are very, 'bery' dangerous!"
"Morell cautioned that he does not “sit in the room anymore” where strategic decisions are made, but said prior to the Paris terrorist attack earlier this month, “There seemed to have been a judgment that, look, we don’t want to destroy these oil tankers because that’s infrastructure that’s going to be necessary to support the people when ISIS isn’t there anymore, and it’s going to create environmental damage.”
Since the attack on Paris, the U.S. has tried to cut off the terrorist organization’s revenue stream by bombing oil trucks."

Remedial reading for "The Chairman"
"By late February 2016, the Russian airstrikes conducted around 60 airstrikes daily, while the American-led coalition averaged seven. These Russian airstrikes have reportedly proven particularly effective against ISIS oil trade and supply routes in the Syrian Desert. An estimated 209 Syrian oil facilities were destroyed by the airstrikes, along with 2,000 petroleum transport equipments. By the time of the withdrawal of the "main part" of its forces in mid-March, Russia had conducted over 9,000 airstrikes over the course of five and a half months, while helping the Syrian Army capture 400 towns and acquire 10,000 square kilometers of territory."
ReplyDeleteClearly although Obama had the larger air force and had been there the longest, it wasn't until Putin came along that Obama did jack squat.

I am sure that Trump will leave the Kurds high and dry.
ReplyDeleteThere is no support in the U.S. to be there. Until there is Trump will pack up.
It will be a very bad thing to do, but I do not necessarily disagree. There is so much to do in America.
In America we have all the nice liberals calling everyone they do not like NAZIs and fascists. They (People like Creamer , the husband of a Democrat Congresswoman) pay people to start fights at campaign rallies and then cry foul.
That is liberals call people NAZIs, when they do not actually call for executing people.
