Reaction To Russian President Putin's Speech On Russia's New Weapons

DW: NATO joins Angela Merkel and Donald Trump to voice concern about Putin's 'invincible' weapons

A speech by President Vladimir Putin detailing new nuclear weapons in Russia's arsenal has raised fears of a new arms race. NATO has joined Merkel and Trump in voicing concern about the impact of Putin's words.

NATO has joined Germany and the US in condemning recent claims by Russian President Vladimir Putin that his country has developed a new, "invincible" nuclear weapon.

On Friday, NATO Spokeswoman Oana Lungescu said: "Russian statements threatening to target allies are unacceptable and counterproductive." She also reiterated the fact that the alliance would remain vigilant in using its military forces to deter foreign aggression directed at alliance members.

Did Herr Merkel incease Germany's defense budget.

Hell, no that ditz was criticizing the U.S. & Trump, because Trump asked her to live up to the NATO treaty obligations.

The blond bimbo, Merkel, needs all her cash to spend not on defense, but her precious invaders, who lack high school educations, hate women, and hate Germany in general.

The blond bimbo finally admitted there were no go zones in Germany.

“It means for example that there cannot be any no-go areas, that there cannot be areas where no-one dares to go but there are such places,” Blond Bimbo said. “One has to call them by name and do something about it.” - Fox

  2. I don't recognize Putin, usually more cautious on his words. Is it the close election?
The pathetic part of this story is the US missile was not directed to Russia (so what is the utility of evading no threat?) and it doesn't change anything on the strategic balance. US is still able to change Russia into ashes.
Bottom line: this is absolutely counter productive because, now, the west mind to have a defense against Russian missiles. Bravo...

  3. You do not have to avoid defenses.

You jam them with nuclear blasts.

    You walk your missiles in.

It has been part of doctrine in the past.

  4. Jac,

I agree. What is the point of evading no threat? The US missile defense system was not designed with Russia in mind. I don't think this is the first time Russian leaders have alluded to a need to evade US missile defenses. Maybe Russian leaders have extreme paranoia. Unfortunately US/"western" actions haven't always been helpful.
