BBC: Arkady Babchenko: 'Murdered' Russian journalist is alive

Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko, widely reported to have been assassinated in Kiev on Tuesday, has turned up alive at a press conference.

In an extraordinary development, Babchenko, a high-profile critic of the Kremlin, appeared live on Ukrainian TV.

He revealed that he was informed a month ago he was the target of a plot.

The head of Ukraine's security services, Vasyl Hrytsak, said the assassination was "ordered by Russian security services".

There were gasps and applause as Babchenko entered the room for the press conference on Wednesday. He thanked the Ukrainian security services for saving his life.

I'm also happy he's alive but you can bet Kremlin now not only wants him dead, but he won't get the relatively nice shot in the back, that teporters over there typically get, but he'll either get the nerve agent or polonium poisoning treatment. Slow, painful, gruesome death. ..and this time they'll get it right to send a message.
