VOA: Trump, Japan's Abe to Meet Ahead of Possible US-North Korea Summit
WHITE HOUSE — President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe plan to hold face-to-face discussions before a planned summit between Trump and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un.
“We agreed to meet before the U.S.-North Korea summit,” Abe told reporters in Tokyo following his Monday telephone call with Trump.
In the call, Trump and Abe also “affirmed the shared imperative of achieving the complete and permanent dismantlement of North Korea’s nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and ballistic missile programs,” according to a White House statement.
Both Trump and Abe are set to attend the Group of Seven economic summit June 8-9 in Canada, but the two may meet at the White House prior to that, according to officials in Washington and Tokyo.

Update: White House says Trump and Abe agree to meet before expected U.S.- North Korea summit (Reuters)
WNU Editor: This discussions on the upcoming Singapore summit that I am interested in are between President Trump and Chinese President Xi. My sense is that both leaders have been talking a lot on what needs to be done to make this summit a success ... but there has been little if any public announcements .... and there certainly has been no leaks.
I still see no reason for comrade Kim to give up his nukes and I see no reason for Pres. Trump to settle for anything short of that.
ReplyDeleteNorth Korea as been a faithful tool of China ever since 1950. I see no benefit to China in making North Korea give up its nukes.
Unless Trump has threaten trade relations to such an extent China see's no choice but to force DPRK to deal. but that would be political suicide for Trump as well.
N.K.: ok. we give up nukes and now....
ReplyDeleteTrump: we will rebuild your country and so China will not have to and they will be happy.
N.K. But how can you pay for such genorosity?
Trump: the losers who pay taxes will not even notice. They gladly accepted a huge deficit when I told them they would be making a few more bucks a year.
N.K. Ok. Let us then celebrate with whale meat, supplied by Japanese fishing industry
Trump: if you do not mind, a supersized coke and double burger with extra fries.
Stop leaking ffs!!

"And Donald, when the time comes to show what great buddies you are, don't brush off the dandruff on Kim's shoulder. It may not actually be dandruff."
