Miami Herald: Venezuela's Maduro threatens 'armed revolution' ahead of May 20 election

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro is warning that he’ll take up arms and lead a revolution if a government comes into power that wants to hand the country’s "riches" to “imperialist” forces.

In a campaign speech Wednesday, Maduro — who is hoping to win a new six-year term in a highly questioned May 20 election — accused his nearest opposition rival, Henri Falcón, of wanting to sell the country out to “the gringos.”

“If some day a government was in power that intended to hand over [our] riches, I would be the first one to raise the alarm, grab a gun and start an armed revolution with the people, if necessary,” he told a crowd of supporters in Vargas. “I would be the first one to do it, and call the people to arms.”

    So right!!

    Aizino,

"There will be a large crop of capitalists born. Communism tends to that people." Perhaps this is why Russia has thoroughly rejected Communism except for perhaps the very old who are alone. To many in the "west" the wrong side won Cold War 1. Now Russia has rejected Communism. For this many can NEVER be forgiven. I believe this goes a long way towards explaining the irrational hatred toward them.

  5. "This is why Russia has thoroughly rejected Communism "

    You are an idiot shill.

The communist part consistently receives anywhere from 1/6 to 2/6 of the vote over the past quarter of century. So we are not talking about old white guys here.

1/6 th to 2/6 ths is enough to doom a country. It has been enough in the U.S. electorate to cause us great problems. It was enough to take over the Democrat Party and make it into an hyper extreme Leftwinger party.

The oligarchy ruling Russia came from the old communist party or other who have made accommodation with them.
