CBS: CIA Director Gina Haspel announces new leadership picks

CIA Director Gina Haspel's pick for the number three role at the agency is, like her choice for deputy director, a career analyst with three decades of experience across a number of specialized fields.

Andrew "Andy" Makridis will assume the position of chief operating officer, a position that does not require Senate confirmation.

In a press release announcing Makridis' appointment, Haspel said, "Andy brings a wealth of expertise from his 32-year CIA career and has a deep understanding of how the agency works."

"He is the ultimate team player," Haspel said.

WNU Editor: The appointment that caught my eye was this one .... Haspel also named Sonya Holt, a 34-year veteran of the agency, to the role of chief diversity and inclusion officer.

Chief diversity and inclusion officer?!?!?!

  1. Not only that but doesn't 34 seem a bit young to be in a Chief Officer role? Or am I being ageist...

  2. 34 year veteran of the agency....probably around 60 years old.

This agency was run by a former communist and current Muslim, in John Brennan. I assume the moles he put in place are many and in diverse sections of the agency. Getting rid of them should be Gina Haspel's top priority. Those clowns clown show led to the deaths of many agent assets in China for instance.

    1. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Brennan was either working for Russia or influenced by them.

  3. That, anon, is a disgusting and fully dishonorable comment...now what about Hanssen and Ames? Blame that on Brennan too? Now deal with this: Brennan worked first with CIA under Bush
think a communist could get clearance and then head up CIA
perhaps time to do some reading

  12. Guys, while we're all upset to have a lynch mob leftie among us who's been accusing the president of the widest stuff for two years now without any evidence, can we please not attack him personally? Otherwise we're just like them

    1. Anyone claiming stuff Fred claims without evidence is on the far side of any fraction and brings chaos to the US. And then he claims the number of indictments brought by the government means anything but several lives destroyed. Hundreds of years jail sentences combined for white collar crimes almost everyone commits in Washington and usually only had to serve probation at best, while Manafort has to serve in isolation like a mass murderer. While I'm all for justice and going after tax evaders this is so clear a hit job on people to compose stories about Trump at the cost of our democracy and justice system. It is not justice if one group of people is treated with years of jail each, and gets their lives destroyed, and another group who did the same and worse (hillary Clinton who destroyed subpoenaed evidence and enriched herself all while risking the safety of the nation with her unauthorised servers in her basement ffs).. it's not right and Fred not only defends these people but is part of what destroyed our justice system and political system.
