U.S. President Trump: Companies Doing Business With Iran Will Be Barred From The U.S.

Reuters: Trump says firms doing business in Iran to be barred from U.S. as sanctions hit

Companies doing business with Iran will be barred from the United States, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, as new U.S. sanctions took effect despite pleas from Washington’s allies.

Iran dismissed a last-minute offer from the Trump administration for talks, saying it could not negotiate while Washington had reneged on a 2015 deal to lift sanctions in return for curbs on Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump decided this year to pull out of the agreement, ignoring pleas from the other world powers that had co-sponsored the deal, including Washington’s main European allies Britain, France and Germany, as well as Russia and Chi

Obama said he intended to fundamentally transform America. He succeeded in making America worse, especially race relations and crime. Now Trump has the goal of fundamentally transform the world. I got to give him A for effort, can’t say how it works out.

All we can do is wait and see. One thing is for sure though...the democrats and leftist media will oppose everything he does and demonize him throughout his time in office.

Actually the goals are much less than transforming the "world." For country with the very limited resources America has, transforming the world is impossible. He's much more focused on making America a rich and successful country. This is actually achievable..

I agree it is not known at this time how this is going to work out. The major key I think is going to be neutralizing the hysterical over the top opposition.

To be clear there are two basic types of opposition to Trump. 1.) There are, those who take reasonable positions and can be constructively worked with. 2.)There is the hysterical over the top opposition. Examples of this are John Brennan, the Mueller probe, much of the government, the anti-Russia hysteria, and much of the media. They remind me of rabid animals.

As for transforming the world, this was a BHO and HRC thing with concepts like "r2p," America as an "exceptional nation," and other insane concepts.

America cannot transform the world. Even if we could we aren't qualified. The goals of DJT are much more focused. Make our country a great country.

Many have used and abused us for decades. With DJT there is hope that this will end. Of course this probably has some of the serial abusers in a state of anxiety. The most egregious examples can be named but the post has run long.

Solving the problems with Iran would not lead to "world peace" but it would be a step in the right direction. Iran "death to America" is calling for genocide against the American people. This is an unacceptable situation.

Given that the major world powers seem to be backing Iran for now at least, had I been POTUS I probably would have kept the crap sandwich of a deal that Iran didn't even sign based on the premise that we had no real choice. Then we could have tried to get them to allow us to add sine things like "jalapeƱos, lettuce, tomatoes, etc" to make the crap sandwich more palatable.

POTUS was elected to make America a great and successful country. Settling for crap sandwiches would be inconsistent with this goal. Doing that which is right in the face of stiff and unreasonable opposition requires character and sometimes major steps have to be taken alone.

B. Poster, Trump is attempting to fundamentally change the US role with China, North Korea, EU nations, Mexico, Canada, the Middle East in general. Do it and he’s transformed the world.

Bposter you are so full of it. Limited resources... the US with 300 million people is twice (!) The economy in terms of gdp than China with 1.5 billion people (!). And your Russia doesn't even register in that club. Russia''s economy is the size of Italy ffs and Italy is one of the poorer EU states. Russia lol

Anon,

Second to last post. We change the US role with the various countries you mention, it does need to be changed, and I think POTUS is on the right track. This makes the US a wealthier and more powerful country and we are on better terms with them. It does not transform the world. That's not doable by the United States nor is it the goal.

Anon,

Last post. 300 million people in a world of about 7 billion and controlling less than a 10% or so of world land "limited resources" is an accurate statement.

The size of a country's gdp is much like how much it spends on its military. This actuall tells us very little about the country's capabilities or influence. It is kind of like time of possession in American football. While the stat is not unimportant, it has been called "the least important stat in football." The same thing applies to military spending and gdp except these are even less important than American football's time of possession. While not unimportant, they are unworthy of the importance assigned to them by the pundits. In doing so, the analysis is superficial and does a disservice to those seeking to seriously understand things. Of course those who are serious will seek multiple sources and aren't likely get hung up on the superficial.

"Your Russia..." Russia is not my Russia. I'm American. Some of simply don't think its prudent to inflame tensions with major world powers without a very good reason especially when the assistance of such major powers is going to be needed. Some of us do not think sufficient reasons have been given. We tend to treat with skepticism what our "superiors" tell us. This is especially complicated by the problem that those pushing hardest for this have a huge credibility gap.

I suppose the "lol" remark is either because you know I am correct and choose to laugh because you are uncomfortable facing this or your analysis is so superficial you do not recognize how superficial it really is. You will need to figure that one out.
