Al Jazeera: Bolton: US to act 'very strongly' if Syria uses chemical arms

Trump's national security adviser John Bolton also says Washington seeks to change Iran's behaviour, not its regime.

US President Donald Trump's national security adviser has warned that the United States would respond "very strongly" if forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad use chemical weapons in an offensive to retake Idlib province.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday during a visit to Jerusalem, John Bolton said: "We now see plans for the Syrian regime to resume offensive military activities in Idlib province.

WNU Editor: France and the U.K. have also issued a warning to Syria .... France, US, UK warn Assad over chemical weapons in Idlib (RFI). Everyone is positioning themselves for the expected Syrian offensive of Idlib.

  9. It looks like someone may be setting us up for more military action. It may ba about time for the "rebels" to stage another chemical weapons attack. Having been burned badly on Iraqi WMD we need to be very skeptical of anything our government tells us.

    We recently lost a brave and patriotic pilot who was on his 9th combat deployment. These brave men and women aren't pawns to be used and abused by our government.

    IF there is a chemical weapons attack or an alleged one there needs to be a fhorough investigation before any actions are taken and all Intel used to justify the action including all sources and methods needs to be shared with the American people. Just trust us isn't enough.
