Saturday's assault, one of the worst ever against the most powerful force of the Islamic republic, struck a blow at its security establishment at a time when the United States and its Gulf allies are working to isolate Tehran.

Considering the numbers of US troops killed by the Revo Guards over the past few decades, the US has thousands to kill to even the score.

But the US is likely not behind this attack. Iran has made lots of enemies with its overseas adventures and has many aggrieved minorities inside its borders including Kurds. Might the US assist these acts of terror? Sure but we are far from the most likely list.
