WNU Editor: The last test was a failure when it was conducted this January, so I can guess they learned something and have applied  it to this test.

  1. People make a big deal of the misses, but; let's say the accuracy is 50%, if it was for real; we'd throw 3-5 missles at it for sure. Mich cheaper to waste these smaller missiles than allow a city or base to be destroyed. And yes, there is not enough time for a lot but this is what I would suspect.

  3. @Michael Feldhake: Very true, at least for "smaller" attack threats. However, This would quickly be saturated against a "larger" threat.

Having high accuracy with a shoot-look-shoot doctrine is the next be step in Ballistic missile defense and we are very close to achieving that.

  4. I agree with this program and it's aims. I also concur with Feldhake's and Anon's above statements. I would remind everyone though we are dealing with a very different animal in nukes. If only 50 (a very small percentage) penetrate to target the destruction is hard to comprehend, this must always be borne in mind. Until then I support all means and methods (such as the above program) to counter these weapons.
