French ‘Yellow Vests' Hold A 12th Weekend Of Protests

* The Yellow Vest protests have returned to the streets of France today for a 12th successive weekend
* Tear gas filled the air and riot police did not hesitate and firing off their controversial rubber bullets
* Many protesters are donning eye patches in support of Jerome Rodrigues, 40, who was blinded last weekend
* This week's demonstrations mark a shift in focus as the 'Gilets Jaunes' mark the 1,900 injured since November
* The Interior Ministry said 80,000 security officials had been deployed, including 5,000 in Paris

Weapons including controversial rubber bullets were used against French Yellow Vests demonstrating on behalf of the ‘victims of police violence’ as they rioted in central Paris today.

Heavily armed officers also used tear gas, baton charges and water cannons against members of the mass anti-government movement, who are named after their high visibility motoring jackets.

They were staging their 12th Saturday in a row of demonstrations aimed at getting President Emmanuel Macron to resign.

  1. I would like to know, are the Yellow Vests solely a domestic French resistance, or is there foreign financing and organization in play? I can not recall much reporting on this question.
