Newsweek: U.S. Army Says It Needs New Weapons to 'Fight and Win Against the Russians and Chinese'
The highest-ranking civilian in the U.S. Army has estimated that Russian military power is set to peak in less than a decade's time and China only two years later.
Moscow and Beijing have both set out to modernize their respective armed forces, seeking advanced capabilities to counter a more powerful, global command in the hands of the Pentagon. Speaking to Reuters on Tuesday, Army Secretary Mark Esper said the U.S. was recalibrating its warfighting strategy, including ongoing weapons acquisition programs, to accommodate an increasingly daunting challenge posed by Russia and China.
"What we’re looking at is 2028 and beyond, because we think it's time the Russians will be peaking," Esper told Reuters, adding that the sights were set on "the Chinese after" in 2030.
"If we’re going to fight and win against the Russians and Chinese in the year 2030, 2040 and 2050, I’ve got to start building the next generation now," he later added.

WNU Editor: I am not worried about the Russian military being a long term threat (with the exception of its nuclear arsenal). It is China and its long term policy of becoming a world super power that can deploy its military globally that concerns me.
As I've said before, any conflict with Russia is nonsensical (unless THEY attack).. we (Europeans, and Americans) are culturally, ethnically so much closer to Russia than China, that we should really try to form a partnership with them. Of course, in the aftermath of the Russia collusion hoax this is impossible for Trump to do... also makes me think the biggest benefactor of this now almost 3 year long witch hunt is China.
ReplyDeleteEither way, once Trump is out of office - likely in 2024 - we should have a serious look at this, ideally beforehand, IF the leftwing media can for once use reason and not tie Trump's hands behind his back. Does anyone here really think that Russians (I'm not saying Putin, I mean Russians) are our enemy? FFS I know Russians and they are some of the most fun people to be around. The government is of course mafia and corrupt and likely involved in murders of reporters, but I think much of this will be gone once Putin is out of office (at least I hope so).
Either way, we need to look at this. Because China is not looking at us (Westerners) as equals. To them we are second class citizens in a world they are hellbent to shape. Just look at businesses and governement in China. You will not see a single caucasian (and for sure not black, they hate african americans/blacks) in any office of significance. It is an authoritarian, border-line totalitarian ethno state. And we are scum in their eyes, and they are out for revenge for the lost century / milenium in which they believe they should have ruled the world already. It is sickening to even think of it,but that is the mindset of the Chinese government and the ruling party and we better think twice before falling for this left-wing media narrative that seems hellbent to cause a war between the US and Russia - or at least make it impossible to work with them. You have to really ask yourself "WHO BENEFITS?" it is of course China. And again, I would like to point out that CNN has an incredibly high revenue stream stemming from Chinese ads and pro-China editorials on their homepage and in their shows. It doesn't take a genius to see what's going on here
"The U.S. Army Wants New And Better Weapons To Face Russia And China"
ReplyDeleteWhile Dim-o-crats talk about collusion and "Russia, Russia. Russia" look them to raid the cookie jar (DoD) to pay for their vote getting schemes.
Dim-o-crat leaders are not concerned with Chinese spying via computer chips or Russian or Chinese military might. To party leaders it is all about the Benjamins. They want a talking point for the next election.
A Dim-o-crat leaderr mkight talk big when at a militayr installtion in their district, because of jobs, but they will fo9llow their part lock step like automaton in cutting the budget based not on a QDR, but based on Democrat leciton priorities.
You see Dim-o-crats need to provide services and income to those unwilling to work. It is in AOC's parrot approved New Green Deal. An electoral quid pro quo; Rob Peter to pay Paul;
"To robbe Petyr & geve it Poule, it were non almesse but gret synne."
Democrats have learned nothing from history or in AOC's case economics.
I call them Dumb-ocrats :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I hope the Republican party files a lawsuit. You should not be able to call one party "Democrat" party in a democratic nation, it distorts the truth and makes voters believe one party would be democratic (and the other not). This could be easily proven and there are many similar cases where courts have ruled favourable in such situations.
Except Anon
ReplyDeleteIt is not the democratic nation it purports to be.
In fact it is not a democracy at all but a Republic that uses a so called democratic but overideble (think Electoral College) process, i.e., elections that are highly fixed and manipulated to elect representatives.
Republic means rule by law. That being the case, your comments, idiotic as they are, apply more to the republicans and their party as they are not law abiding people and generally seek to subvert the law.
Oh please, Bob. Disagree with him but don't call him idiotic. That's an attribute well known and associated with you.
DeleteGee, the electoral college and the reason for it was covered in college.
ReplyDeleteSince bufu did not go to an American college, he has no clue WTF it is saying in regards to the electoral college.
Bufu can make claims all day long, but it is talking out its ass. It is said that the British have not Constitution but have tradition and that the US is the opposite. This is not quite true. There are traditions such that the DA resign with the election of a new president. There are traditions such that electors generally vote the way their state goes.
Now go back to your political commissar and get some new talking points bufu.
Haha I like bufu :) what does it mean? Dumb as f$ck? Certainly describes Bob quite well. I'm sure he votes Democrat and I'm even more certain he feels good about it.. it's hilarious.
DeleteHaha
ReplyDeleteYes for sure, I can see way bubu would really appeal to an AW like you.
"President Trump asked 46 US attorneys to resign. That's normal." - Vox
ReplyDeleteIt is not codified in law, but it is a tradition. Some skanks on the Left have made an issue of it during GWB and Trump presidencies.
It is also a tradition, but not codified in law that electors vote according to the popular vote during the 1st vote. This belies BuFu's assertion that the system is rigged.
Bufus always claim the US is soooooo bad. But we know from the gate test that people try to get in not flee the Us. What people try to do is flee what BuFu claims are paradises.
If Bufu was intelligent, which it is not, it would know there is a gradient or an outflow of natives leaving the Nordic Republics and other socialist paradises in Europe. A news story that might give a BuFu an inkling of the truth if it had more than 2 neurons to rub together is the WSJ article on the flow of nurses from Africa to Europe to the US.
I wouldn't expect Bufu to fully understand what a gradient is, since it doesn't have a degree and very little work in mathematics after grade school.

Hint Conan is smarter.
Sad to say but AW-ing is a foreign concept to Bufu
ReplyDeleteName calling tells us what you and not they really are
ReplyDeleteI don't hate the US and I don't claim the US, meaning in this case the people are bad.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do is print information that is verifiable. If it wasn't verifiable I am certain an intelligent individual like yourself, or one of your many manifestation, would respond in a convincing manner, in which case I would correct my misunderstanding. But so far you have been remiss in that and have stooped to name calling suggesting you are immature, perhaps under the age of majority and certainly uneducated. I get the feeling you aren't even American.
Now if by chance you are American, I realize it must be a piss off to live in a country for which you obviously have no love, or, you would want to intelligently re-educate someone who you think is wrong about your country. Although I get the feeling you simply haven't a clue as to historical reality, so mudslinging is all you got.
You read often, well maybe you don't but people, that is Americans do, and they are at a loss as to why there are so many mass killings in America. Think on this. America is a country that, since its founding, has consistently shown no respect for human life, internationally and domestically as well so the real question is, with such a history of killing, why would anyone in the country not know the answer or the solution for that matter?
One more thing. If you think this tirade is a response to your inane comment(s), forget it succer.
No, Bob, You hate the US.
ReplyDeleteYou have a long history of posts proving it.
Am little jiggle now and then will mitigate your prior posts.

ReplyDeleteYour usual BS. You are just in denial face it and get help.
Had a great Christmas though, thanks for asking. And my girlfriend, I can't praise her enough. Her daughters got her Netflix for Christmas, Roku and all and they are paying for the service, bless their souls. She gave me her ID and password so I could use it too. I already had Netflix, but she has enabled me to cancel it and save the money. I plan to take her out for dinner for the gift, maybe McD's.
I don't hate anyone but I have to say you are high on my dislike list. In fact, you are the only one on my dislike list. Even Trump isn't there probably because he is the President in the US and at this point, face it, the people deserve that idiot. Besides I think it's great that he is so stupid, conniving and criminal, and yet became President and that he makes going on the net every day interesting.

ReplyDeletePoor Bob could not come up with an extra 5 fivers so that his GF had Netflix.
Survey question.
Is Bob that poor or that cheap?
Anon
ReplyDeleteI live in Canada. Prices here are different from those in whatever country it is that you exist in. As I live alone I can have two devices linked up to Netflix. Yes if I lived with a couple more people I would have to pay an extra charge to allow three of us to watch three different movies at one time. I can give my user name and password to someone else and the two of us, in different homes could watch using the same membership which is what my girlfriend has done for me and which enabled me to drop my service saving a bit. She is such a charm.
What surprised me is that the daughter who got the service for her also has her own Netflix but for some reason didn't just give her user ID and password to her daughter. Most likely she dosen't want her mother to see what she is watching, and/or has already given that access to her girlfriend. Then again people with good paying jobs often don't watch their pennies.
Things aren't always what they seem or what you, being such an abnormal entity may think. For example it was my other girlfriend that got the Netflix. I actually gave her username and password to my less fortunate other girlfriend with instructions to watch stuff under the selection "Bob", for obvious reasons of course.
There is an old toast one of my friends always throws out at Kelsey's we are having beers. "Here's to our wives and sweethearts, may they never meet."
There is a lesbian couple living next door to me that I do some work for. Small stuff repairing their deck, roof, plumbing, digging out a swimming pool, intaling new light fixtures, stuff like that. They try to pay me but heck, I need something to keep me busy so I refuse, money but, I never refuse a home baked pie of course.
Last fall one of them asked what I would like for Christmas and on the day I opened a present left at my door from them. It was a Rolex.
I guess they just didn't understand what I meant when I said "I wanna watch."
"Dinocrats"
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke. The Democrats long ago moved to the centre which means they are closer to being Republicans than they are traditional Democrats. That much was quite obvious during Obama's first two years when he did basically dick all for the not wealthy people in spite of having both Houses.
Americans are the epitome of the expression "divide and conquer" and proof that it works, as shown every time when they support/tolerate illegal and criminal wars based on the lies they are fed and readily accept as gospel.
Porch thieves? I don't live where you do buddy. Have a look a Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911, the part where he was being interviewed in Toronto.
