WNU Editor: Russian President Putin has responded to this sentence .... Putin calls U.S. treatment of admitted agent Butina an outrage (Reuters). More here .... US prison sentence for Butina a ‘travesty of justice’ – Putin (RT). What's my take. A very harsh sentence. She was in the U.S. on a student visa, and she did what most foreign students do .... get to know the country, learn how the political and social system works, and to make friends. What happened to her can be applied by other countries who have American students in their country doing the same thing.
Yes it is an outrage, but in fact, that's just an answer to the "treating" of US embassy people.
ReplyDeleteShe is essentially being punished for being Russian in the wrong place at the wrong time.
ReplyDeleteDaniel it is called spying. stop apologizing for what she had done...do you see a lawyer appealing her case?
ReplyDeleteWhat is with the Russians and ginger headed spy chicks?
ReplyDeleteObama was embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteObama needed to look strong.
So Obama said go make an example of someone. So the FBI did.
Opinion: The real Maria Butina scandal: FBI could have prevented it
Maria Butina, Alleged Russian Spy, Met with Obama Team Before 2016 Election
"This individual supposedly had high-level meetings with senior aides to the former president and a Russian official back in 2015"
Sometimes you know a person is an agent and you watch them. You do not roll them up right away.
If Butina had made a bee line for Planned Parenthood, the SPLC or a Democrat whale donor, would Obama have left her to operate for a year or two?
Obama 's people knew, who this spy was and it do not bother them in the least. They only pulled her because they needed to look tough.
The spy was rounded up for poltical purpose and not for the benefit for the US.
Consider the Muslim outreach that George Bush made in 2000 and Republicans in general in the late 1990s. It helped GWB in the polls. It is not happening so much right now, but consider if they give it another try. Consider if there is a another Democrat administration and they see that the Muslim Brotherhood is a threat, which it is. They'll allow a MB operative to talk to Republican organizations and but will warn their friends off from talking to the MB operative through the grape vine. Then they will round up the MB operative, jail them and intimate or worse about the Republicans.
You know the Democrats are good for this.
ReplyDeleteIn other NO YOU’RE THE PUPPET news, FBI Director Christopher Wray “warned anew on Friday about Russia’s continued meddling in American elections, calling it a ‘significant counterintelligence threat,’” according to The NYT. But the report goes on to say that even as our intelligence agencies ramp up their efforts to counter the threat, “Trump views any discussion of future Russian interference as effectively questioning the legitimacy of his 2016 victory, prompting senior officials to head off discussions with him.”
She is getting a light sentence.
ReplyDeleteA) She did not do much (yet).
B) There was not much there, The Obamites knew who she was and if we come down hard on her, the Russians will reciprocate. Since her prosecution is more of a Obamite/media influence operation ran against the American people rather than real counterespionage operation they decide to give her a light sentence. It is a pro forma kind of thing. Some people would let her go but that might anger partisan deep state actors so they gave her a sentence, one that serves as a 'state' fig leaf.
They could not give her 6 months or a year, because it would make the state look bad. SO they gave her 18 months not willing to make it 2 and incur Russian wrath. This is deep state logic trying to make this go away after one of the figureheads/leaders (part of each) was playing like a baby does with excrement and effed things up.
I mean F____! If she was a really bad spy sentence her to 20 or more years and/or trade her for one of ours.
Maybe the whole oil deal things was to set a hook and capture people. OR maybe it was someone's get rich quick scheme. I have not seen a whole lot one way or another.
The whole things just makes Obama look bad. If she is a pickpocket (Spy) why does he let the pickpocket work a neighborhood that is not his when he is chief of police?
ReplyDeleteButina has attempted to develop ties to conservative American politics. In a supporting affidavit to the government's support for pre-trial detention following her indictment in United States of America v. Maria Butina, the FBI stated that she had successfully sought ties to the Republican Party, where it is referred to as "POLITICAL PARTY 1".[5] According to The Daily Beast, she has presented herself as a "Russian central bank staffer, a leading gun rights advocate, a 'representative of the Russian Federation,' a Washington, D.C., graduate student, a journalist, and a connection between Team Trump and Russia" in order to gain access to "high-level contacts" in Washington.[22] At the 2014 NRA annual meeting, Butina took pictures with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and former U.S. Senator and 2016 presidential candidate Rick Santorum. At the 2015 NRA annual meeting, she met Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, and in July 2015, she was present at the launch of Walker's 2016 presidential campaign.[19][30]

ReplyDeleteYou had a point with your cut and paste exercise? I hope it gave you release.
I work with Ukrainians, Iranians, Vietnamese, Chinese and who knows what else.
I have worked with nationals from hostile powers in the military, who were a mere 10 years off the boat and naturalized. I was thinking WTF. Presumably they passed ENTNAC and other stuff.
Merely being a foreign national does not set off alarm bells. Especially after this person met with Obama Treasury Officials. I could not meet with treasury officials, but this person, Butina, did. What am I suppose to think at that point?
I am much more alarmed by everyday Democrat leaders, who write mash notes to the Kremlin, Fidel, or Daniel Ortega.
You can post all the crap from court documents due to cases started by crooked FBI agents who lied on their 302s and FISA apps. Not all FBI agents but enough of them to make the barrel stink.
"Butina took pictures with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and former U.S. Senator and 2016 presidential candidate Rick Santorum"
And John Wayne Gacy has picture with President Carter and his wife. You had a point Anon 9:11 AM of the copy and paste brigade?
And then some 'hic' posts a Saloon.com article as proof.
ReplyDeleteNunes warned of Russian interference in 2014.
ReplyDeleteObama, Obamites and liberals laughed themselves silly.
They had the press on their side, the political machines to pad the votes and not a worry in the world. Then they lost the election and were furious. Who could blame them? They thought that they had stolen that election fair and square like many previous elections.

These investigation will not be dropped and many Democrats\ are going to prison for life!
Which would be justice, because the penalty of bearing false witness is the same as the crime you falsely accuse someone of. You know Democrats wanted to lie and imprison Republicans for life. Therefore they should be imprisoned for life.

ReplyDeleteOne problem with this gambit, seemingly unnoticed by many who ran wild with the story, is that even the original Washington Post story admitted the North Korean bill was not actually paid. The Post tried to keep hope alive by tacking an ellipsis on the end of this particular fact and suggesting maybe the administration paid the ransom later

After-birth abortion: why should the baby live? Journal of Medical Ethics
Abstract
"Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus' health. By showing that (1) both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons, (2) the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant and (3) adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people, the authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled."

"the infant would be delivered…and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother." - Gov. Ralph Northam (D–Va.)
"1st they came for the babies and I said nothing
Then they came for the old farts ..."
Word has it that Democrats are digging up the graves of Himmler and Mengele to learn how to abort babies post birth. Actually that is not true, but they are dusting of the old NAZI statutes and seeing if they can reword them to get them passed.
Remember kiddies, if the doctor and the mother have a discussion of 5 minutes,5 seconds, or 5 microseconds, then everything is copacetic.

Mother: Why certainly.
