ABC News Online: Lebanese photographer who took iconic civil war image searches for the man who saved his life
Photographer Ramzi Haidar has been searching for the Piano Man for more than 30 years.

WNU Editor: If he has not been found after 30 years .... he is probably dead.
The above image strikes me as poetic and tragic. Maybe he was a piano teacher before he wielded an AK-47.
ReplyDelete/Sort of a non-sequitur but it reminds me of the movie "The Peacemaker". 1997: The first Dreamworks film ever released. Mimi Leder, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman. The story of a broken-hearted Yugoslav diplomat who hijacks a Russian nuclear warhead. Enters the US through the UN and sets about his suicide detonation. Through many heroic hijinks - and a very well choreographed helicopter raid into Russia - the good guys thwart the detonation in NYC.
Throughout the film you do feel profound sympathy for the antagonist. He was portrayed as a piano teacher. Certain scenes are poignant and convey the heartbreak of the Yugoslav wars.
Lebanon too.
