CNBC/Reuters: G-20 leaders sidestep trade protectionism in communique
* Speaking after chairing the two-day G-20 summit in Osaka, western Japan, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the leaders also found common ground on climate change despite “big differences” in the members’ views.
* The communique also warned that global economic growth remains low and risks were tilted to the downside, as trade and geopolitical tensions have “intensified.”
Group of 20 leaders have clearly confirmed the need for a free, fair and non-discriminatory trade policy, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Saturday, suggesting that members have agreed to the wording to be included in their communique.
Speaking after chairing the two-day G-20 summit in Osaka, western Japan, Abe said the leaders also found common ground on climate change despite “big differences” in the members’ views.
