NATO has warned Russia to destroy a new nuclear missile or face the consequences after the Kremlin warned of a repeat of the Cuban crisis and sent a ship to Havana.
Allied defence ministers issued the stark warning to the Kremlin today amid a Moscow face-off with Washington over a treaty keeping land-based nuclear warheads out of Europe.
The U.S. has said they will pull out of the Reagan-era Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) unless Russia destroys its nuclear-capable cruise missile system.
On Monday, the Kremlin warned of a Cuban Missile Crisis-style confrontation as one of its frigates arrived in Havana.

ReplyDeleteRussia didn't win the last arms race in which they engaged and now they are a much smaller entity with a none too strong economy it seems.
ReplyDeleteI for one, can’t really fathom why a leader of a great country like Russia, President Putin, with talent, history, a population of educated and aspiring people would not want to create an evolving progressive and peaceful future for his people.
Instead of constant belligerence, bellicose talk, new ever more powerful and stealthy species ending weapons. Having his professional military pilots and naval captains act unprofessional and in a dangerous fashion. Openly breaking treaties and flaunting the worst tendencies of murder and intrigue, and much more.
Why?
He could be a true hero to his people and all peace loving and freedom seeking societies.
Instead, doing everything in his power to disrupt other societies aspirations for free and peaceful existence and preparing to close off Russia internet connectivity, continued repression of their press and other established civil freedoms.
And this, our President at some level aspires to befriend and at some level, to emulate.
Upside down cake.
Is it about ego, settling scores or a desire to bring everyone down to the present poor condition of the average Russian.
Any ideas?
He really could be a hero-President Putin, even now. by changing course and following and teaching by example to the higher angels of human destiny.
Including, expecting his best friend President Xi to do the same. It would be a pleasant world.
As WNU editor intimated, paraphrase,’na gonna do it’.
This is getting sloppy
ReplyDeleteThe best thing to do is attack the heart of mother Russia
ReplyDeleteAttack with truth to be blessed by the will
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the same treaty that the US said it wasn't going to honor. Have they understood the engineering issues and backed out of pursuing it and begging Russia to stop? Oh wait this is NATO, not America ahahah Isn't Turkey part of NATO?
ReplyDeleteEnd of the day, that Frigate is not alone, it will have a Russian submarine fleet nearby which will be nuclear capable. Its a show of force to the US who is systematically attempting to start a war with Iran.
They said what, Trump was 10mins away from attacking Iran, now there is a Russian warship in Cuba... I mean wake the fuck up, this isnt about INF, its about Iran and the fact Russia is position to strike the US if it wants to start shit in the middle east.
Russia isn't in a financial position to strike anyone who will strike back twice as hard.
Delete"Russia isn't in a financial position to strike anyone who will strike back twice as hard." Well, there is a different kind of 'threat assessment.' You totally miss the point - this IS pushback.
