ABC News Online: More than a dozen people killed, hundreds wounded as Sudan troops besiege protest camp, doctors say
Sudanese security forces have moved against a protest sit-in camp in the capital, besieging the site and setting fire to tents, witnesses and protest leaders said.
At least nine people were killed and more than 200 wounded, many by gunfire, according to the Sudan Doctors' Committee and a hospital doctor.
The death toll later rose to at least 13 in the worst violence experienced since the overthrow of President Omar al-Bashir in April.
