This man is a fool
ReplyDeleteBob Cuntley would be impressed with a Cat's paw.
ReplyDeleteIs Kim a "fool?" I would have to very respectfully say emphatically "no." After all he has managed to stay in power in a very difficult position and he has managed to secure good relations with China and Russia arguably the most powerful countries in the world.
ReplyDeleteHe does have "A LOT" of submarines or so I have read. By some accounts he has the most in the world. The question would be how capable are these submarines. In other words what is the quality? Some reports suggest these are WW2 era subs for the most part. If so, I would work under the assumption that these subs have been fully refurbished and modernized. As such, it seems to me that North Korea is a VERY formidable military force and should be treated as such.
Has Trump been "bested?" While we cannot "know" for certain without real time inside information which I do not have, based upon the available evidence I would say emphatically "no" to such an assertion.
While progress has been slow of late or so it seems, when compared with where we were circa September 2017 when war seemed inevitable the current situation is a vast improvement. South Korean leadership and South Koreans have expressed satisfaction with the current situation. Japan has lowered their alert level with regards to North Korea and to the best I can tell have not changed this. As the editor has pointed out, trade between China and North Korea is significantly reduced. I think I could go on. As such, it does not seem that Kim has "bested" Trump. Perhaps Mr. Huntley is using a different definition for "bested" than I am.
I'm not sure what a "cat's paw" has to do with this. With that said it appears to me that Mr. Huntley typically always to takes a position that is opposite the American one and harbors a special animosity towards president Trump in particular. Unfortunately such anti-American sentiment is something Americans have to deal with on a daily basis. I attribute this, in large part, to bad messaging on our part. Any type of agreement will need to take this into account. Those expressing such sentiments need to be placated or otherwise afforded something. As such, if a satisfactory agreement is ultimately reached those expressing such anti-American sentiments will be allowed to claim something. Hence we get the notion that Kim "bested" Trump.
Frankly, I don't care who gets "bested" or claims they "bested" someone as long as a satisfactory agreement can be reached. Part of such an agreement will ultimately include a timetable for the withdrawal of US forces IMHO.
I would add that the "summit" format of Trump and Kim meeting affords a level of prestige to president Trump that no other American president has been afforded. I think the "world" and more importantly the countries in the region understand this and I can bet this is not lost on the Chinese or the North Koreans who have seen this. As such, the claim that Trump has been "bested" by Kim does not seem to stand up to scrutiny.
Finally, the editor sometimes refers to his "gut." In this case, my "gut" tells me we are much closer to a final resolution on the Korean issue than is generally known. There are still some things that could derail this. The most obvious of which to me at least would the removal of president Trump and his team or having him otherwise undermined in this situation. One's "gut" is not always right but as to the notion that Trump has been "bested" the available evidence would appear to suggest that this is not the case.
"...it appears to me that Mr. Huntley typically always to takes a position that is opposite the American one and harbors a special animosity towards president Trump in particular. Unfortunately such anti-American sentiment is something Americans have to deal with on a daily basis. "
ReplyDeleteYou clearly have no idea what the Constituion and Declaration and the American Revolution were all about...start reading! your remark is fully un-American while you dump on someone by accusing him of being un-American
Anon,
ReplyDeleteVery respectfully I read Mr. Huntley's comments regularly but will admit that perhaps I missed something. Just to cite a couple of examples. 1.) Mr. Huntley appears to always without question take a pro-Iranian position with regards to the ongoing conflict with America. 2.) He appeared to suggest that America should completely open its borders to South and Central Americans. Such a move would be impossible for America to accommodate and would likely be suicidal.
I could go on. Of course Mr. Huntley is free to take such positions and to express them. This is his Constitutional right. It is also my right to disagree and to express such sentiments. I do not consider such free expression as "dumping." While we do have the freedom to oppose a particular policy or to debate it, the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence cannot be suicide pacts. Somehow I get the feeling that you and perhaps Mr. Huntley wish to silence me.
"This is his Constitutional right."
ReplyDeleteRobert is a Canadian. He has no Constitutional rights other than the ones liberals demand for him.
Robert has a chip on his shoulder. He grew up in the shadow of the US. He feels 2nd best.
Imagine all the hoopla over the Apollo program and he grew up knowing he could never be an astronaut.
It is sour grapes all the way until entropy causes him to face plant. After that happens could anyone tell the difference before and after that event?

ReplyDeleteIt is really fun to watch you Anon, having a discussion among yourselves.
I don't hate America, I don't hate Americans, but I do hold them to their performance in the world, which over the years since WW II has been atrocious and is continuing along that line. You on the other hand do nothing to improve that image. That is the image I have and to deny it is to deny history, son.
"but I do hold them to their performance in the world, which over the years since WW II has been atrocious and is continuing along that line."
ReplyDeleteThat is a lie. You go back to the Indian Wars and conveniently forget that Canada also had Indian wars.
Hypocrite much?
"but I do hold them to their performance in the world, which over the years since WW II has been atrocious and is continuing along that line."
ReplyDeleteBob has regaled us that we lost the Korean War.
Late time I looked South Korea was thriving and North Korea has had repeated famines.
Little baby Booby forgets that Canada fought in the Canadian war. Did Canada lose the Korean too?
Is Bob the most awesome shit you ever did see?
"BUT YOU ARE IN YOUR NAME CALLING"
ReplyDeleteI did not come up with that particular name. Someone else did, but I like it.
Deal with my cat's paw statement. You can't I understand but give it a good ole freshman college try. Think back to English 99.
