Will The EU Suffer More Than UK From Brexit?
Zero Hedge/Mish Talk: Eight Reasons The EU Will Suffer Far More Than UK From Brexit
The EU would be wise to make a deal with the UK. It will get clobbered in the event of no deal.
Conventional wisdom says the UK will get hit harder than the EU in the event of a no deal Brexit. Conventional wisdom is wrong.
Here are eight reasons the EU will suffer more in both the short and long term.

WNU Editor: I concur with this analysis but with the following proviso. In the short term the smaller player will always be hurt the most. But in the medium to long term, the benefits of breaking away from an over-regulated and bureaucratic structure such as the EU will be enormous. I now also believe that Brexit will occur without a deal. The EU is not structured to face a situation that it is facing now, and it is too rigid in its thinking to compromise or formulate alternatives.
Ursula von der Leyen - German Defense Minister (17 December 2013 - 17 July 2019)
ReplyDeleteA good looking woman, but who cares. What we care about is that she is a knowledgeable and capable executive. IMO she was made defense minister, because she was a woman. It is the thing to do to show that a nation in Europe is fair. It would be nice, if she had had a stint in the Bundeswehr. Are there any of those in German government who are female?
I do not think this woman would fight very hard except for her advancement and her seven(7) children. Life must be very nice as an aristocrat.
Now she President of the European Commission. She is failing upward. She is proof that you can exceed the ceiling of the Peter Principle. If you consider her competent as president, then obviously her next position will be as The Secretary-General of the United Nations.
She has nice titles, a lot of money and she is connected. But I ask you. Does she have a vision that will make things better and that she can actually execute or is she a female version of Robert Mueller?

EU cannot compromise. They think that even a punishing deal would signal to the eastern nations that it's an open door and they fear the domino effect. The Balkan/Baltic countries will start the process soon after, and potentially countries like Greece and Italy as well.
ReplyDeletenice sexist comment, like wtf are you drunk or just really funny, like a cnn guy pretending to be fox news(them hillbillies they all talk like that sexist deplorables)? either way, therapy might be an idea ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll stand by my comments. Merkel was chosen a political protege by Helmut Kohl because she was a woman and because she was an East German.
ReplyDeleteIt really floors me that someone could be chosen as defense minister due to their experience as Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and before that as Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
I rethought my response. Ursula von der Leyen is where she is because she is a woman.

The women defense minister scare Putin. He is pissing his pants.
- Putin is scared of the six of six German subs that cannot sail.
- Putin is kept up at night by the German air force that cannot fly.
- Putin is cared of the German soldiers that train with broom sticks.
The current budget is 9% higher than the pre-2014 budget. The Germans were so upset of the Crimean annexation they increased their budget slowly 9% over the 2009 to 2013 level.
