France 24: US secrecy on Baghdadi raid exposes distrust of NATO ally Turkey

Islamic State (IS) group chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was found and killed over the weekend in northern Syria just a few miles from the Turkish border in a US raid that evaded the Turkey’s Incirlik base, in a sign of the increasing distrust between US and Turkish militaries.

The compound where Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was targeted early Sunday is located near the village of Barisha in northwestern Syria barely three miles from the Turkish border in Idlib, a province that has come to be known as “the last refuge of Syrian rebels” resisting President Bashar al-Assad’s forces.

  3. I would bet that poster Andrew Jackson likes Colonel Alexander Vindman attitude.

    I do too.

However, I think Vindman should be in prison and I am a "Nuke them Russkis until they glow shoot them in the dark type"

Vindman is leaking so as to get a foreign policy (or just a policy) outcome that he desires.

President Trump was elected not Vindman.

I have read in a post, but have not verified from a reliable source that Vindman is an Ukrainian immigrant. I can understand that Vindman is passionate. I can agree that maybe we should be tougher on Russia, but I am very upset that he wants to take out Trump over this because he thinks that an investigation on Burisma corruption would distract from arming Ukraine.

The surname Vindman even sounds vaguely German. Is he a Volga German? I am sympathetic to that, but he crossed the line. He needs to go to jail.

  4. During questioning on Tuesday Colonel Vindman admitted he shared the read-outs of President Trump’s call Ukrainian President Zelenzky “with others.”

  7. None of these lame comments are worthy of an intelligent response. Flynn was a Turkey and Russian ‘assist’. Trump was warned about that before hand, yet he hired him for a top security position.

  8. Obama nominated Flynn in 2012. He worked for Obama for over 2 years.

When it became obvious that Flynn would not be an Obama toady he was dismissed.

According to what Flynn had stated in one final interview as DIA director, he felt like a lone voice in thinking that the United States was less safe from the threat of Islamic terrorism in 2014 than it was prior to the 9/11 attacks; he went on to believe that he was pressed into retirement for questioning the Obama administration's public narrative that Al Qaeda was close to defeat.[41]

Journalist Seymour Hersh wrote that "Flynn confirmed [to Hersh] that his agency had sent a constant stream of classified warnings ... about the dire consequences of toppling [Syrian President] Assad." Flynn recounted that his agency was producing intelligence reports indicating that radical Islamists were the main force in the Syrian insurgency and "that Turkey was looking the other way when it came to the growth of the Islamic State inside Syria".

So rank and file libs at the time were against going into Syria. The Swamp dwelling libs followed der Fuehrer.

So the rank & file libs who protest war whenever asked by Soros or whoever would have been on the same side as Flynn on this topic. Now that they need him destroyed, not so much.

General colon Powell is to be disregarded. He advanced the pottery barn rule on Afhganistan and Iraq and then when Barack Hussein Bambam broke Libya he said nothing because both he and Barack were black. solidarity don't you know.

What is lame is Anon 1:08 AM. FU Bitch.
