Ukraine President Zelenskiy Denies Quid Pro Quo Arrangement With President Trump During Phone Call

The Hill: Ukraine's Zelensky: I never talked to Trump about 'position of a quid pro quo'

Ukraine's president says in a new interview that he never discussed a "quid pro quo" with President Trump, but criticized any blocking of U.S. security aid for his country at a time when it is at war with Russia.

"I never talked to the president from the position of a quid pro quo. That’s not my thing," Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with Time published Monday.

"I don’t want us to look like beggars. But you have to understand. We’re at war," he said. "If you’re our strategic partner, then you can’t go blocking anything for us. I think that’s just about fairness. It’s not about a quid pro quo. It just goes without saying."

  1. At the time of the call I imagine Trump himself had no knowledge that what he was asking was a "Quid Pro Quo". Trump certainly understood the concept of "This for That" which is the direct translation of "Quid Pro Quo".

I have no doubt that Zelensky understood he was dealing with a "This for That" situation given the circumstances, but, is smart to disclaim any involvement.

  2. 1) Most of us have read the transcript Bobby.

Trump brought up Crowdstrike. Zelensky brought up Biden. The transcript is clear.

Statements a) & b) are real doozies. Do you know WTF you are writing Bobby?

PS you seem to have a very fevered imagination.

    3) Just as international criminal syndicates/cartels are connected to terrorist organizations. Political figures like Biden are engaged in Quid Pro Quo" that undermine the rule of law (in the Ukraine and the US), impoverish people (in both countries) with their graft and illegal political manipulations.

Trump has every right to go after a crooked politicians like Biden. That Biden's corruption was so public and that Obama did nothing about it makes its critical that Trump look into it.

This corruption has been known since 2013. How many years should the American people wait and how many billions should Hunter and Kerry's son be allowed to stash?

Is the a new monopoly card? The "get out of investigation card", if you have at least one close relative in high office or running for it?

  5. Interesting read. Note that a new Quid Pro Quo may well include a statement that Ukraine is fixing the corruption problem from Trump if Trump becomes so inclined. I wonder what would need to happen in Ukraine to convince Trump to make such a statement?

  6. Spending more time on the web, Bob, churning Lefty conspiratorial talking points?

Don't have money to take out your main squeeze to McDonalds? Or did she become disenchanted with your lack of commitment or means?

Your inability to critique my reasonable and well thought out comment(s) in any intelligent manner other than to post vitriol suggests, strongly, that you agree with them, otherwise you would have posted a reasonable counter argument(s).

Simply put, you didn't because you couldn't and that suggests either you agree with me, or, you are so lacking in intelligence that you have to resort to vitriol as a form of counter argument, which it isn't. I, on the other hand, merely gave you some respect in chosing the former rather than the latter.

    Was I wrong in that?

  10. I don't agree with an Anti-American troll, whose job history and marital status changes by the post. Such a troll deserves derision.

  11. This from a so-called American who has demonstrated hatred for the vast majority of Americans from day one.

No wonder your country is on the downswing.

  12. Downswing is when your country cannot keep its few subs and few destroyers operating.

If Canada wasn't part of NATO (i,e, under American Protection) the Chinese would have finishing trawlers raping you fisheries. Your brave response would be "Thank you sir may I have another!"
