Reuters: No country will be spared, warn experts, as fight against coronavirus ramps up
GENEVA/DUBAI (Reuters) - No country should make the “fatal mistake” of assuming it will be spared the coronavirus, the World Health Organization said on Thursday, as governments from Iran to Australia raced to contain the epidemic’s rapid global spread.
With new infections reported around the world now surpassing those in mainland China, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said even rich nations should prepare for surprises.
“No country should assume it won’t get cases, that would be a fatal mistake, quite literally,” Tedros said, pointing to Italy, where authorities said three more people had died, bringing the toll from Europe’s worst outbreak of the illness to 17. Confirmed cases there rose to 650.

ReplyDeleteMass Shooter at Milwaukee’s Miller-Coors Brewery Identified as 51-Year-Old Anthony Ferrill — Shooter Felt he Was Victim of Racism

"The Molson Coors Beverage Company is a multinational brewing company, formed in 2005 by the merger of Molson of Canada, and Coors of the United States. It is the world's seventh largest brewer by volume."
Anthony N. Ferrill was an electrician. Well shit that hurts. We need way more electricians than humanities majors. That is a great loss. Who do I blame for Ferrill going bat shit crazy? Democrats.
If they find any literature in Ferrill's house look for the SM not to heavily report on it.
Poor blind squirrel found what he thought was a good nut for the Democrat cause.
WASHINGTON — Federal health employees interacted with Americans quarantined for possible exposure to the coronavirus without proper medical training or protective gear, then scattered into the general population, according to a government whistle-blower.
ReplyDeleteIn a portion of a complaint filing obtained by The New York Times that has been submitted to the Office of the Special Counsel, the whistle-blower, described as a senior leader at the health agency, said the team was “improperly deployed” to two military bases in California to assist the processing of Americans who had been evacuated from coronavirus hot zones in China and elsewhere.
The staff members were sent to Travis Air Force Base and March Air Reserve Base and were ordered to enter quarantined areas, including a hangar where coronavirus evacuees were being received. They were not provided training in safety protocols until five days later, the person said.
Without proper training or equipment, some of the exposed staff members moved freely around and off the bases, with at least one person staying in a nearby hotel and leaving California on a commercial flight. Many were unaware of the need to test their temperature three times a day.
Now we learn that the White House has apparently instructed Fauci not to speak publicly without prior sign-off from the White House about what he will say. And the person in charge of screening information, the one in charge of what federal officials say and don’t say, is Mike Pence. In a normal administration, some effort to coordinate message and make sure everyone is speaking consistently and clearly would likely make sense. But given what we have seen from the President and the White House so far it seems like a bad sign.

ReplyDeleteOn her various social media pages, which have now been deleted, Ferrill’s wife posted photos of her family and expressing liberal political views. In July 2019, Ferrill’s wife attended a speech by U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren at South Division High School Gym in Milwaukee. Following the speech, Ferrill’s wife took a photo with the Massachusetts senator.
We need to keep digging. We must see what other literature was in the house or consumed.
IMO Ferrill was a straight shooter made mentally ill by Democrat leaders. Not sure if his coworkers helped in that.

Please note that liberals said travel restriction to Africa during the Ebola outbreak were racist.
I think we need more funding. Maybe we should raid TIAA and give them IOUs? Then we we can train these people after their LGBT training, which must come 1st. Yyou should have seen the trans training we had. Wonder why dissemination of the training was restricted?
Perhaps the government does not want the public know what it is spending money on such as sweet little liberal lies.

ReplyDeleteAP FACT CHECK: Democrats distort coronavirus readiness
"THE FACTS: They’re both wrong to say the agencies have seen their money cut. Bloomberg is repeating the false allegation in a new ad that states the U.S. is unprepared for the virus because of “reckless cuts” to the CDC. Trump’s budgets have proposed cuts to public health, only to be overruled by Congress, where there’s strong bipartisan support for agencies such as the CDC and NIH. Instead, financing has increased.
Indeed, the money that government disease detectives first tapped to fight the latest outbreak was a congressional fund created for health emergencies.
Some public health experts say a bigger concern than White House budgets is the steady erosion of a CDC grant program for state and local public health emergency preparedness — the front lines in detecting and battling new disease. But that decline was set in motion by a congressional budget measure that predates Trump."
So the AP calls the Democrats liars. It must be really egregious for the sympathetic press to calk democrats liars.
So Mini-Mike, Biden, and squirrel all lied.
Well, a case could be made that squirrel was not lying but merely blindly following orders after being brainwashed.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic presidential contenders are describing the federal infectious-disease bureaucracy as rudderless and ill-prepared for the coronavirus threat because of budget cuts and ham-handed leadership by President Donald Trump. That’s a distorted picture. For starters, Trump hasn’t succeeded in cutting the budget.
He’s proposed cuts but Congress ignored him and increased financing instead. The National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention aren’t suffering from budget cuts that never took effect.
A look at some of the Democrats’ remarks:
MIKE BLOOMBERG: “There’s nobody here to figure out what the hell we should be doing. And he’s defunded — he’s defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC, so we don’t have the organization we need. This is a very serious thing.” — debate Tuesday night.
JOE BIDEN, comparing the Obama-Biden administration with now: “We increased the budget of the CDC. We increased the NIH budget. ... He’s wiped all that out. ... He cut the funding for the entire effort.”
THE FACTS: They’re both wrong to say the agencies have seen their money cut.
ReplyDeleteIs there a doctor in the house? Mike Pence unveils the White House's coronavirus taskforce amid growing crisis and Wall Street plunge - with just FOUR medical experts out of 15 chiefs (and one of them isn't even there)
Pence convenes first meeting of official White House coronavirus taskforce Wednesday afternoon- after appearing at the conservative CPAC conference for a lengthy speech
Just four out of the 15 people on it are doctors, one of whom was named this morning and was not apparently at the meeting
Those on the taskforce include Larry Kudlow, the Trump economic adviser who earlier in the week said the U.S. was 'airtight' from the virus
Also on it is Ken Cuccinelli, the acting deputy Homeland Security secretary who had tweeted a complaint that he could not find a map of coronavirus' spread
As they met Wall Street saw the worst stock market sell-off since 2008 with the Dow losing almost 1,200 points and officially entering a 'correction'
Goldman Sachs warned U.S. companies could show no earnings growth this year because of the virus
In California, the state said it is monitoring 8,400 people for potential coronavirus infection and worldwide the death toll continued to mount
Pence has gagged all health officials from speaking in public about the threat of the virus without his prior approval, and instead he gave a pre-recorded interview to Fox News' Sean Hannity
And there was confusion over who is actually in charge of the taskforce with Pence saying 'I'm leading the task force,' but Azar would still hold the title of chairman - when Trump said Wednesday Azar was in charge

ReplyDeleteFederal government is like universities. It is full of dead wood and people that do not contribute to the mission. You can reduce the budget and get the same results.
I mean consider universities that increase staff, burden students with higher tuition and still have the same teacher to pupil ration. Can you say useless overhead. It is why the university system is no destroying America from within. It is part of the problem.
Oh and for HIV I would pray. You pray and the roll up your sleeves. Everything else that you have vomited up, I have looked up and it shows you in a bad light when you get past the headline and 1st paragraph.
And There is a highly regarded doctor/technical expert working for Pence. That is the way it works in corporations and government. Pence is the CO and the Doctor is the XO. Typically, a CO lets everyone do their thing, watches over everything and steps in when he thinks he needs to. The XO runs the thing. I think you even gave the name of the doctor on one of your many 'posts' today. The CO letting people do what they are trained to do and infrequently stepping into overrule, is what I saw in the military. I forgot the name for it. It is not worth taking thew time to look it up to inform you. You can't be informed, because you know everything. Now the XO runs things but the CO takes the hit, if things go bad.
Now I thought the CO/XO system was stupid. It took my 3 years to catch on. We got a new CO for the unit and things ran differently. I couldn't put my finger on it, but whatever the CO did made a difference. Whatever, it works.
I know if things go south you'll be lying in the weeds hissing up a storm about Pence. Your're good for it.

President Trump is now fully embracing the conspiracy theory that his assorted enemies are deliberately hyping the coronavirus threat, all to damage him politically. At his Wednesday news conference, Trump agreed with Rush Limbaugh’s suggestion that Trump’s foes are “weaponizing” the outbreak against him.
There is something deeply dangerous about this idea that might escape initial scrutiny. So let’s be clear: This cannot be described with the usual head-in-the-sand media euphemisms. This isn’t just spin. It isn’t just crazy Trump being crazy Trump. It isn’t just Trump flooding the zone with chaos.
