3.5 Million Confirmed Covid-19 Coronavirus Cases Have Now Been Recorded Around The World


Daily Mail: 3.5million confirmed coronavirus cases have now been recorded around the world, with deaths approaching 250,000 - but true toll is likely to be far higher

* The coronavirus pandemic has infected at least 3,506,729 and killed 247,381
* Europe has the majority of deaths but the US is the worst-hit single country
* Scientists are desperately chasing a vaccine to turn the tide against the virus

The coronavirus has now infected more than 3.5million people worldwide in the latest grim milestone for the pandemic.

At least 3,506,729 people have been sickened by the virus since it emerged in China late last year, according to Johns Hopkins University figures.

Some 247,381 people have died after contracting the disease, the majority of them (142,667) in Europe.

The United States has the world's highest figures with 1,176,548 known infections and 68,066 deaths.

WNU Editor: My gut is also telling me the same thing. This 3.5 million number is probably under-reporting the real number because not enough testing has been done .... Global coronavirus cases surpass 3.5 million amid underreporting fears (Reuters).
