Mathias Döpfner, Business Insider: The coronavirus pandemic makes it clear: Europe must decide between the US and China
* China's push for global economic and technological dominance has left Europe pulled between China and the continent's long-time partner, the US.
* The coronavirus pandemic makes it clear that Europe, particularly Germany, is running out of time to choose between the US and China.
* The democratic values of the US compared to the authoritarian values of China make the choice clear.
Crises always have a habit of clarifying things. The coronavirus crisis is no different.
Once a treatment for the virus has been found, the debates about shutdown and easing restrictions have passed, and the recession has reared its ugly head, nothing less than the world order itself must be clarified. Or to be more specific: the matter of alliance. Where does Europe stand? On the side of the US or China?
Let us first look at a few assumptions and a few facts. America, the democratic world power, is currently governed by a narcissistic president — a man seen to be vulgar, uneducated, and with a volatile character who lacks any sense whatsoever for institutions. Half of Americans and three quarters of Europeans have no respect for him.

WNU Editor: European leaders have always looked at developing a closer relationship with China to not only diversify their exports, but to have leverage against the U.S.. But that has not happened. Europe's trade imbalance with China has only grown, helped by Chinese restrictions on European imports. And as for leverage against the U.S. .... totally ineffective in the age of Trump. So who will Europe decide to have closer relations with? Unfortunately for Europe, the same leaders and institutions that made and implemented the policies of the past decade to have better ties with China are the same ones who will determine Europe's future relationship with the U.S. and China. Being a good student of human behaviour, I for one will not be surprised if Europe doubles down on forging closer relations with China. Pandemic or no pandemic.
I think Britain will be with the USA on this issue. If the EU side with the PRC then I think the proper title for the EU should be the EUSSR. I can't see that. The EU is made up of cheese eating surrender monkeys but I can't see them siding with China unless there are a number of Chinese agents at the very top of the EU.
ReplyDeleteEU leaders are embarassing
ReplyDeleteGiven the choice, the UK and eastern Europe will side with the US. Western Europe will side with China, if for no other reason than to not screw up their ongoing losing streak. Scandanavia is an unknown.
ReplyDeleteAs s swede i must regretfully say they wkll side with China. Media is totally against everything with US and also the politicians.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteLeftist Swedish politicians are also against anything Swedish.
"I can not figure out what Swedish culture is. I think that's what makes many Swedes jealous of immigrant groups. You have a culture, an identity, a history, something that brings you together. And what do we have? We have Midsummer's Eve and such silly things."
- IDIOT FUCKER Mona Sahlin
What can I say about such a stupid, egotistically and evil person?
I bet she went to university. I bet she had to take liberal arts to be well rounded. She does not know what Swedish culture is?
Look up the Vikings. Look them up, because may you saw a film that riffed off of them like the series Vikings and then you wanted to learn more.
So you pick up a book or read an article and learn a few things. Like before the Vikings there was the Vendel culture. And of course the Vikings had a culture. So it begs the question. When did the Swedes stop having a culture?
But the Leftist Bitch has another point. The Swedes do not have enough culture. Does culture depend on on how colorful you native dress is, Hoe much embroidery there is. So if a the native dress of Latvia is more than that of Sweden we can say according to the Mona Sahlin standard that Latvia has more culture Sweden?
The problem isn't just Mona Sahlin. She swims in a sea of such Leftist idiots.
Culture is an umbrella term which encompasses the social behavior and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups
Moa Sahlin needs to be called out and ridiculed like she was being mobbed by a flock of seagulls.
"Media is totally against everything with US"
So my point is The media is Leftist. So of course, they are against anything American, Western, or Swedish. They are vermin.
No Mona Sahlin never went to university. Our prime minister Stefan Löfven is a welder.

ReplyDelete"The paradox of Swedes believing that there is no Swedish culture, while simultaneously putting great value in other peoples’ culture, is something that some clever people have been writing books about in order to try and make sense of. It is namely a problem to try and get immigrants to integrate into our society, when we deny there is anything to integrate into and that “everyone is equal”."
The convolutions of liberal/Leftist/Retard thinking.
A welder could be very good especially if they started a small business. To be skilled as a welder and a business man dealing with human resources and taxes etc would be very good.
ReplyDeleteI was wrong about Mona Sahlin. Sweden is not the only country where Liberals opine that their country has no culture. Maybe no culture that they like or no culture that they can identify, but any group of people has culture.
There are a hell of lot of people, who did not go to uni and yet they are still bright and do very well in life.
Mona Sahlin has no excuse. She might not have taken a sociology or psychology course, but she could still be well read. She could crack open a dictionary or encyclopedia.
AS a little kid I was aware of differences in culture such as how Europeans and American celebrate Christmas. I thought there was 1 way until I learned that the "home" country did things differently.
Maybe Mona should educate herself and make a side by side list of cultural items. Then she can tell us which one she likes better.
“I have no desire to go through the emancipation of women and homosexuals all over again.”
- Dutch sociologist Pim Fortuyn
Maybe Mona like a non-Swedish culture such as Muslim culture, where women are treated like shit?
