WNU Editor: This will be the crux of the executive order .... The guidelines will make clear what social media companies can do while retaining the 'liability shield', while also warning how they might lose that protection by being too proactive.
No surprises. My prediction from yesterday still holds.
Update: Facebook's founder Mark Zuckerberg is taking the side of President Trump .... Mark Zuckerberg says social networks should not be fact-checking political speech (CNBC). More here .... "Internet Platforms Aren't Arbiters Of Truth" - Zuckerberg Blasts Twitter For Tagging Trump Tweets As "Misinformation" (Zero Hedge).
Update #2: Facebook's founder Mark Zuckerberg's above remarks are right. Twitter crossed a line when it decided to be the arbiter on what is right or wrong on its platform. It is no longer providing a platform for content, it is deciding what content is valid, and it is doing it by providing its own content to prove its point.
YouTube is somewhat doing the same thing, in that it removes things it regards as "false". Case in point it removes videos that show a differing opinion on the China Virus from theirs. This is a dangerous thing to do.
