The Guardian: Fears grow of US coronavirus surge from George Floyd protests
Even as all US states continue further phased reopening of businesses and social movement amid the coronavirus pandemic, governors, mayors and public health officials across the US are raising fears of a surge in cases of Covid-19 arising from escalating protests over the death of George Floyd.
Floyd, 46, died in Minneapolis a week ago, on Memorial Day, during an arrest by four police officers. The killing focused a fierce light on police brutality towards African Americans, and stoked protest and violence in most major cities.
According to figures from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, the US has seen nearly 1.8m infections and surpassed 105,000 deaths in the Covid-19 pandemic. In a country that does not have universal healthcare, the crisis has disproportionately affected minorities, particularly those who live in crowded urban areas.

Vitamin C in COVID-19 Prevention
ReplyDeleteFor years we've been told that mega doses do nothing. The linked article references actual medical studies.
The amount of vitamin C in the blood stream is given. It is also said that sickness depletes this reservoir. Exactly how, (the pathways) I did not discover.
You cannot poison yourself with Vitamin C. You either excrete it or you get a case of diarrhea and know to dial it back.
The COVID emergency is over. Gretchen of Michigan under the cover of the riots rescinded your fascist decrees. But not without scolding her children that she might spank them again.
I can tell you from watching 48 hours of live feed, those masks do nothing to stop tear gas.
ReplyDeleteIn about 10 says will know for certain one of two things. Either the cities with these riots will break out in a new wave of infections, or we’ll find out that the Wuhan coronavirus is not near the threat it was touted to be.

ReplyDeleteProof of mask, ability to judge 6 feet from 6 inches needed before entry into hospital and, if younger, signing away kidney or other body bits and pieces before being treated by taxpayers, if one can prove non participation in protests and other childish behavior.
