Global News: Religious leaders ‘outraged’ over Trump photo op at D.C. church amid George Floyd protests
After promising to deploy the U.S. military against protesters angry over the killing of unarmed Black people, President Donald Trump made his way to a historic Washington, D.C., church for a photo op where he held up a Bible and posed with members of his administration.
But moments before Trump’s journey to St. John’s Church, which lies right across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, police cleared a crowd of largely peaceful protesters using tear gas and other means of force — prompting outrage from religious leaders and politicians.

WNU Editor: President Trump had a choice. Stay in his "bunker" and do nothing. Or tell the Secret Service that he needs to go to St. John’s Episcopal Church and make a statement that violence and attacking places of worship will not be tolerated. He made the right choice. The media, Democrats, and some church leaders are upset that the protesters occupying Lafayette Park had to be removed. Considering the violence of the past few days in the park, and dozens of Secret Service officers being wounded, the security of the President could not be guaranteed. These people had to be removed. The images of the President and his entire cabinet walking across the park to the church has resonated with a lot of people. I know because the people who support the President approve it, and those who see the President as illegitimate despise it.

Agreed. Trump made the right choice. He went out front, unlike many generals.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that whomever the president is -- he'll get praised AND lambasted for any big decision he makes.
ReplyDeleteWell except for Trump - it seems like media doesn't like anything he does.
This was a direct response to MSNBC "Mr President, I'm outside your house"
ReplyDeletePresident Trump "Hold my bible".
St. John’s Episcopal Church is on the National Register of Historic Places. When I first glanced at the headlined I thought it had been destroyed. I was depressed. I found out later that the damage was relatively minor. The church should never have been at risk.
ReplyDeleteIf the MSM did not like him going there then they should have never alleged that he was chicken with their stories of hiding in the bunker.
Just another Wiley E. Coyote moment by the Leftist press.

ReplyDeleteI am going to become a script kiddy.
When people call trump a fascist it shows their ignorance of political science and history. Great way to identify the low end of the IQ scale.
ReplyDeleteJust call him a poopy face.
ReplyDeleteUS hypocrisy on full display to the whole world.
ReplyDeleteGreat point Layguy! It's quite obvious he's a fascist and even a dipshit like you, and the rest of the CHUDS on this board, will eventually figure it out.
ReplyDeleteYou're losing!
DeletePoint proven.
DeleteHey CHUD, hold my bible:-)
ReplyDeleteThe park police tells a different story about the protestors. According to them they were cleared because they attacked cops and not because of anything the president did or did not do. If peaceful protestors happened to be there, I am sorry about that but one has to be careful of the company they keep. This would not be the first time that the media jumped to a conclusion without taking the time to gather the relevant facts before running with a story and I am sure it won't be the last.
ReplyDeleteAs for the visit itself, he does establish solidarity with the victims of this rioting and looting. I'm pretty sure some people appreciated it. The protestors have a voice. Even the rioters have a voice in the sense that there is very little condemnation of them. Unfortunately no one seems to be speaking up for or representing those being looted, having their property destroyed, and otherwise being threatened. Until this stops it won't be possible to address the other issues.
So far state and local leadership has not shown they have the mettle to get this situation under control. Unless this happens and very soon it appears there will be no choice but to send in the military full force.
I think there's a little panic starting to develop amongst democrats as they begin to realize that these protests are turning into Trump 2020 rallies. The average American is seething at the trail of destruction left behind.
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteThe Left has badly if not fatally miscalculated. Some realize it, but the majority cannot stop.
Lol and you're losing to him.
ReplyDeleteKarma.

ReplyDeleteFeel free to leave your house, turn west, and don't stop until you reach the bottom of the Pacific ocean. You won't be missed.
A church was firebombed in front of the White House.
ReplyDeleteI repeat.
A church in front of the White House was firebombed.
The President had to show up.
This should not even be a debate.
