Australia Is Planning To Have A Lot Of Submarines To Counter China

HMAS 'Collins.' Commonwealth of Australia

Forbes: Australia Has A Plan For Battling China—Add Lots And Lots Of Submarines

China’s navy is on the rise, steadily adding new and better ships and submarines. Western and allied fleets are trying to keep some. Some are succeeding. Others ... aren’t.

The U.S. Navy, for one, is lost at sea, its planning and budgeting in chaos amid collapsing leadership. The Pentagon wants to grow the fleet from today’s 300 front-line ships to 355 by 2030 or so. But there’s no plan, money or political will to do so.

The Americans could look west for an example. The Royal Australian Navy with its 17,000 sailors and 50 or so large ships isn’t big—for comparison, the U.S. Navy’s payroll is more than 400,000.

But the Australian fleet is modern, balanced and in the early stages of a wide-ranging modernization and expansion that, while expensive, appears to achievable. This new fleet could give Australia the naval muscle to stand up to an increasingly assertive China.

WNU Editor: It looks like the Australians have a plan. But they are still a minor power when compared to China.

  1. They will need to figure out a way to build their own submarines without relying on anyone especially America for supplies. In any conflict with China, it's a given that China will blockade the US so that nothing gets into the US or out of it. Forbes correctly has Xi listed as either the most powerful person in the world or the second most powerful in the world depending upon which edition is consulted. The analysis is correct and extends to the countries as well.

There isn't a "plan" whereby Australia is going to confront China and win barring supernatural Divine intervention. The best approach is likely adjusting to geopolitical reality and acting accordingly. Do this and Aussies should be able to thrive like never before.

Sissies have a better lifestyle at all levels with more opportunities for advancement than all but .000001% of Americans dare hope for. It'd be unwise to endanger that.

    1. The submarines they refer to are French not American, and like any war the cost will be very high for China on our turf, also you've forgotten anzus.

  2. I meant Aussies and not sissies. My sincere apologies.

  4. Australia is doing the right choice with the money they have. That said, to be respected by China needs to be a nuclear country. If not, all all they can do will be overcome by a threat of a nuclear war.

  5. The world has awakened

I think it helped that the Australians had a politician who had his house raided just last week (not even mentioned in MSM)

He apparently was compromised by China(probably had something on him) and was openly advocating for Chinese interests

That traitor will spend years in a dark prison cell

The same will happen to any and all political or industrial leaders siding with China. Dark prison cell or worse

  6. Bposter China can blockade the US and its allies only in their wet dreams.

The numbers, as big as China is, are favouring the alliances by far. On top way more warfighting experience and nuclear superiority by 10:1 or more.

Also. China is a very, very unpopular ethno state. The World will see an alliance of all races and backgrounds fight on one side for democracy and freedom. On the other side you'll see a 100% ethno- Chinese army fighting for the CCP who just poisoned the entire world AND insulted us all on top, while trying to make money of our deaths.

    It will be a bloodbath.

China will not win this. There is no way.

Xi and the CCP made a lethal mistake. It's over. The Chinese ambition has started to implode years ago when many industries left. This poisoning of the World was their way to level the playing field and avoid embarrassment for not reaching their publicly promised Chinese century goals.

China was already deeply embarrassed for having to postpone their 2025 goals. Two years after Trump took office. Remember this?

The Chinese are broke and have been broke for years printing money and betting on dumb spineless leaders to believe in this Chinese myth. Our media was glad to take their money and perpetrate the lie of a Chinese century.

    The gold was faked
The stock market data was faked
    The GDP was faked
The housing market is a multi trillion dollar bubble waiting to burst
They are isolated from the world economy

    It's over

    Bye China

  7. Also, you know what will happen now, right?

    1. China will completely close its borders and nationalize all industries. This means that capital and foreign investment will leave over night. Why? Because even Apple's Tim Cook is not stupid enough to invest in China while they steal their IP and nationalize the industries. Maybe he does it because he is compromised but our intel agencies are now clamping down. First house of Australian politician raided and he won't see the sunlight for years. Same will happen to any industry leader siding with China. Any politician siding with China will see what a mob looks like.

    2. China's pipedream was dependent on YOU believing it. They are great at pretending and faking. Go to a Chinese 5 star hotel and you know what I mean.. facade great.. in the back cockroaches and the most vile things. It's all show. And our dumb media "elites" bought into all this. No investigative reporting. Not even visiting China. They have no idea. They printed the money, the faked their data. For years they told us "uhhh better learn Chinese". You know what happene? Interest in the Chinese language, despite this global psychological campaign, has gone down. No one wants to learn Chinese. No one wants to do business with them. You know why? Because they do not respect us. You can feel it when talking to any Chinese. The vile disdain they have for you. Indoctrinated for years by a racist, imperialistic doctrine during which time anything was allowed. Theft. Extortion. Bullying. All sanctioned by the CCP. And it worked. It worked very, very well because our media was working with them.

But you know what will happen now?

Any media leader, any sports person, any politician will be thrown in jail and worse if they are caught dealing with the CCP. I mean loooooong prison sentences and death penalties. The knives are out for anyone doing business as before with China.

    No more

What a huge overstated assertion. Looks like China has bought and is controlling Forbes as well

  10. We need to hold our media accountable

    Think of it

It's not just the lies they spread
But also the truth they withhold

It is soooooo dangerous what they do

Truth is a common good. Must be. Otherwise we could be manipulated and edged towards a war no one wants.

Any media person working at CNN/MSNBC/NyTimes/WaPo must be hold accountable to the fullest extended of the law. Lying in today's age when USA and China are so close to war risks all our lives. Worse yet, we might kill innocent people.

There needs to be a renaissance of news and media. It cannot be that a few companies run by billionaires with strong financial connections to China run our news and tell us what's truth.

Jeff Bezos who owns the Washington Post has benefited unlike any person on this planet from the pandemic.

Jeff Bezos Amazon banned books shedding light on covid-19/ the Wuhan virus

    This cannot stand
Free humans are only free if we control the news.

This must be part of the 21st century: news and media owned and controlled bu the people, not a few select billionaires with shady ties to the CCP and China.
