Reuters: Hundreds of scientists say coronavirus is airborne, ask WHO to revise recommendations: NYT
(Reuters) - Hundreds of scientists say there is evidence that novel coronavirus in smaller particles in the air can infect people and are calling for the World Health Organization to revise recommendations, the New York Times reported on Saturday.
The WHO has said the coronavirus disease spreads primarily from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth, which are expelled when a person with COVID-19 coughs, sneezes or speaks.
In an open letter to the agency, which the researchers plan to publish in a scientific journal next week, 239 scientists in 32 countries outlined the evidence showing smaller particles can infect people, the NYT said nyti.ms/2VIxp67.
The WHO did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters.

WNU Editor: I recall reading a few months ago how an apartment building in China that was under completely lock-down had no coronavirus cases but ended up having cases a few weeks later even though no one left the building, nor did anyone come to the building. The only source that the coronavirus could have come from was from an infected building a block away that was under complete isolation and lockdown. It was then that the Chinese made the determination that this disease had airborne capabilities. Since then more cases have come to light with similar situations. Why the WHO has been hesitant to provide more information on this is beyond me.

ReplyDeleteWHO has a somewhat less burnished reputation as of late now that a different administration is in the White House. And justifiably so methinks.
I'm done listening to medical bureaucrats pushing out their fear-mongering doom claims. Its been demonstrated that these people are politically biased and will regurgitate or manufacture any so-called science that will damage the US economy. Thereby of course hurting Trump. The people be damned.
ReplyDeleteBut, but, but, Russ they're "experts"!
DeleteImagine if it multiplies AND is airborne
ReplyDeleteIt would soon cover the globe
And China uses it to make money. Sell us more PPE you pigs. Insult us more on top. Go ahead. See what happens
Soon we'll be told that Covid is contagious in the after life and therefore we should do the "right" thing for eternity. Let's see "bend the curve, protect our health services, you can have it and be contagious without knowing it, masks good, masks bad, masks good, shortage of ventilators, too many ventilators, ventilators bad, the list is ( as if by design) endless.
ReplyDeleteLol you're right @710
ReplyDeleteAnd they'll try to sell us masks for the afterlife :)
