Reuters: Iran moves mock-up U.S. carrier to mouth of Gulf: satellite images
DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran has moved a mock-up U.S. aircraft carrier to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, satellite images show, suggesting it will use the look-alike vessel for target practice in war games in a Gulf shipping channel vital to world oil exports.
The use of dummy American warships has become an occasional feature of training by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and its naval forces, including in 2015 when Iranian missiles hit a mock-up resembling a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.
Tehran, which opposes the presence of U.S. and Western navies in the Gulf, frequently holds naval war games in the strategic Strait, the conduit for some 30% of all crude and other oil liquids traded by sea.
One of the images taken on July 26 by U.S.-based space technology firm Maxar Technologies showed an Iranian fast attack boat moving toward the model U.S. carrier in the strategic waterway. Another image showed model planes lined up on the deck of the fake carrier.

How cute - they're towing it like a Russian aircraft carrier! Bwahahahaha
ReplyDeletethe shape is off and it looks way too small LOL
ReplyDeleteIf you place the replica on the Iranians side of the narrowest part of the straight and then announce wargames just as an American aircraft carrier group transits the straights.
ReplyDeleteGiven the short distances, your reaction time is nil. The Iranians can get without you decision loop for 2 or 3 minutes.
It is kind of like going to high school and some kid has a beef with you, You know you can take the kid, but to date he has not given you cause and you do not want to get expelled. SO this kid does a little shadow boxing routine dancing around you, Teachers say it is nothing, because he never landed a punch, it is all air punches. The teachers are cowards (like the UN). You have seen a few other cases where a a kid would do the shadow boxing thing and then when there was no one much watching cross the line and cold clock a person.
So you know you can take the guy, but you are not sure you could take him if he lands 1 or 2 sucker punches 1st.
How fast does a missile going 600 mph cross 5 miles?
Destroy the Iranian Navy, America!
ReplyDeleteNo, we should just sink this boat with a simple missile strike -LOL
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for Iran...the only thing they are able to do is a sandbox game.
