Will Joe Biden’s Low-Key Campaign Help Him Win The US Presidency This November?

Former Vice-President Joe Biden. Reuters

Richard Lowry, New York Post: Joe Biden’s low-key campaign is all about hoping President Trump defeats himself

The Biden campaign has been lucky most of all, but it’s also been smart — at least smart enough.

To go, as Joe Biden did, from left for dead to sweeping to the nomination and quickly thereafter emerging as the favorite in November is a run of success that would be the envy of any national politician.

It’s easy to consider this a mere accident given the weakness of Biden’s opponents, first a socialist in the Democratic primaries who had a ceiling on his support and now an incumbent president whose ratings have sagged.

The Biden team certainly isn’t going to rewrite any campaign playbooks or dazzle anyone with its brilliance, but it has avoided serious mistakes and demonstrated an understanding of the basic political terrain and its candidate’s strengths.

WNU Editor: The above commentator stays clear from pointing out what anyone who has been watching Joe Biden closely for the past year has been noticing, and that is his steady decline in his mental capabilities. And the Biden staff knows that. They carefully script his few media appearances, and even then there has been troubling moments. I take care of my 94 year old mother, and I know too many people who are going through exactly what Joe Biden is going through right now. It is what happens to many of us when we get old. But in this case we are talking about someone who is running for the US Presidency, and a campaign staff that are trying their best to hide their candidate's weaknesses. Kudos to them. They have been doing an excellent job. My prediction. It is going to be tough to keep it up. I do not expect there will be any debates. The Biden staff will make sure of that. I also do not expect any large campaign rallies or events from the former Vice President. What I do expect is a low level campaign to continue with his soon to be named Vice-Presidential candidate taking most of the spot-light and press.

  1. Joe Biden cannot win the election.

The Democrat party can for him.

  2. With all due respect, dear editor: next month I will turn 91. I read non stop daily, write a lot, keep a website updated for the past 17 years, and do tai chi, yoga, weights, and a mile walk daily. People differ as they age. To label Biden as you do and ignore what Trump indicates, is so clearly a biased perspective that it is laughable. Now, Biden may or may not be declining in cognitive abilities. But to ignore the possibility for Trump is to indicate a very silly comparison. How old is Ruth Bader Ginsberg? Older than either Biden or Trump, and yet I see no indication in any public statement from her that age has taken a toll that you claim for a young Joe Biden

  3. I saw the same Biden campaign official advertisement on YouTube at least 6 times last month. Biden looks at the camera and says "Hi, I'm Joe Biden and I'd like to ask you for support me in the upcoming election". Ask you FOR support me???? Ok this is a small grammatical error but it was in a professionally edited, paid advertisement for the Democratic Party candidate for President...does he make that many errors that this was the best they could get in 20 takes and had to just go with it because Biden gets tired or something?? Or do they just have poor quality control? It concerned me that it may just be that he is as well put together as a 'soup-sandwich', as we used to say in the Army.

  7. Fred, you're the prime example of a man in decline. You've been wrong so often that I made a habit betting against everything you say and I've bought two cars with it. I'm the one who named you little parrot. And that's what you are. Someone who reached his mental zenith at the age of 40, I'm sorry, I don't mean to ne mean, but truth has to be spoken. You're the -exact- example of a Joe Biden in decline. Mean spirited, bashing half the country and intellectually- speaking a feather weight. Again, not trying to be mean, just trying to wake you up. It's time too, you know? 3+ years of debating with you and it's what, 7:0 for me? I predicted Trump's win - you blabbed he wouldn't stand a chance and that he's trailing in the polls. I predicted the Russia collusion is a hoax, and on and on.

    You're a follower.
Someone who doesn't think for himself.

You're a parrot. You parrot and people scroll by your idiotic copy&pastes

Just for once think for yourself, man. It's embarrassing!

You're the prime reason Biden shouldn't and will not be president. I call it now

  8. "When the U.S. Department of Justice dropped that federal hammer on Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan on Friday, I thought of the shock waves spreading out to Democratic bosses across the country, and the sound of Illinois political rats scurrying for cover they won’t find.

The giant utility agreed to pay $200 million in fines for assisting in a bribery and corruption scheme to benefit “Public Official A” that cost electric rate payers across Illinois real money in rate increases."

    - John Kass, columnist for the Chicago Tribune (Via American Thinker)

I expect a Biden win, because of the power of the Democrat Party and people consider Trump 'mean'. The way Democrat news people like Acosta treat Republicans, Republicans come in 2 varieties, mean right back or fetal position.

So, if Biden the demented touchy feely guy gets elected, I expect Madigan to get off the hook.

A person like Mr. I got nothing upstairs) Parrot can denigrate the American Thinker. But hear this. John Kass is an institution.

If Biden wins and Madigan gets off the hook, I suggest the Russian make peace with the Chinese.

  9. Since Fred has actually written an original thought and not simply cut/pasted incessant news articles that favor his view, I'll respond sincerely.

I have followed Donald Trump and Joe Biden for about the same length of time. Trump a little longer as he'd been a celebrity since the early 1980's. My first prolonged look at Biden was during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings. Which was disgusting.

There's lots of video of Trump during the 1980's, 1990's through present day. Google up his David Letterman interview in 1985. He's been saying the same things, with the same mannerisms and cadence for decades.

As for Biden - he's been a weird, arrogant liar and plagiarist his whole career. And not very intelligent from the outset.

To claim he's a so-called "moderate" would be true I guess - 20 years ago. What Biden was saying 15-20 years ago would've gotten him chased out of today's Democrat party. Much lass a speech at Berkley.

What Biden is saying today is what's been set in front of him. Large print, slow roll teleprompters to parrot the line assigned. And what he's saying now (haltingly and with difficulty) is pure Socialism. I've said before that Biden will be the first US President to be an actual marionette.

You need to understand that its not Biden per se that scares the Hell out of middle of the road voters (yet). Its the people, unelected and unidentified who will pull the strings. Its the people who will populate his Admin, his Cabinet and his court appointments.

Biden will have virtually no say at all in these decisions. Because he is unable. He does not posses the mental alertness, the physical stamina or the quick-witted qualities of glibness that a presidential candidate must have in order to head a party, to win an election. Or to lead a country.

Try putting Biden in an hour-long, free-ranging presser and see what happens.

Fred hates Trump for the same reason every other Anti-American radical hates Trump. They fundamentally hate the United States. They hate it as it was founded and they hate it as it is. Hence the pledges to "fundamentally transform" it.

"Make America Great Again". How is that in any way controversial? Biden now finds himself the figurehead leader of a new progressive fascist movement. Steeped in Marxism, this movement aims to erase US history, to punish its citizens and to destroy the US way of life as we know it.

    Because racism.

And if Biden does win. what then? Will the Marxists suddenly be calmed, satiated and satisfied? Here's a news flash: No They Won't.

Tyranny and subjugation has been humankind's historical default. A Biden win would only accelerate the crazed fury to destroy America and the 244 year respite from that history. Much to the satisfaction and glee of China, Iran, Russia, et al.

It is my prediction and hope that there really is a massive silent majority who is quietly seething with rage (like me) at the blatant defamation and destruction of our country that the Democrats are championing.
