Newsweek: Pentagon Report Finds China Tops U.S. in Ships, Missiles and Air Defense
A new Pentagon report on Chinese military power has shown the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has surpassed the U.S. military in terms of navy size, land-based missiles and advanced air defense systems.
The Office of the Defense Secretary issued today its annual Military and Security Developments Involving the People's Republic of China (PRC) report, detailing how a country identified as the United States' top strategic competitor has advanced.
The document begins by reflecting on how the Pentagon's millennial report two decades ago largely dismissed the PLA's rise, yet it is now on track to become what President Xi Jinping described as a "world-class military" before the middle of this century.
The Pentagon takes this to mean "that Beijing will seek to develop a military by mid-century that is equal to—or in some cases superior to—the U.S. military, or that of any other great power that the PRC views as a threat."

Quantity does not equate to equality, nor does it reflect the total lack of experience with the Chinese military in both combat, and logistics

ReplyDeleteNonetheless, fazman, if half the nukes explode I won't wanna breath the air.
I should also think humanity's progress would be put back a long long time at least in some countries.
Agree, but l beleive MAD doctrine will reign supreme.
DeleteThe nice music I hear during the cold war. This will enhance a lot the Defense budget. Nothing better than a threat to become much more poweful.
ReplyDeleteWNU,
ReplyDeleteThe US defense Department paper is indeed a sobering wake up call.
It explains the recent rash of arrests of Chines Americans on the PRC's payroll, exchange students from China with access to US defense info by various means, but most bothersome, considering the obamma mindset as I perceived it and the residue of those 8 years that is still ensconced in our government by the dim-o-krats and others, is the focus of the CCP on the goals described in this report. No diversity sideshows. No BLM painting of public streets with accompanying photo ops. None of the s..t show that passes for US government these days. Rather a focused effort to achieve the described goals described in this report.
Why do these left wing media outlets continue to report on the growing Chinese threat, yet continue to support the China-appeasing Dems? Only thing I can figure is that globalism NEEDS war to justify its existence, yet the Dems continue to lick China's ass whenever and however instructed. Bit of a contradiction there, unless the (globalist) plan is mutual destruction, leaving the rest of the world with no choice but to capitulate to world government for their own good. Whatever the case, it's a strange process to watch unfold.

ReplyDeleteBad assumption. Between blackmail and cowardice, Western leaders can be made to give stuff up on the periphery. The media will cover for them.
Clausewitz did write that everything else being equal the side with the biggest battalions wins. The Biden, Feinstein, Pelosi, LeBron and other families have a lip lock on Chinese money.
The majority of the press will cover for them. We might not have much of a press after November 3rd.
These are the same dolts that think women in combat units are a good idea!
