France, Germany Impose New Lockdowns to Curb Virus Spread

 


 * Germany and France announced tough new restrictions on businesses Wednesday meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus as the countries respond to worsening outbreaks. 
 * German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Wednesday that the nation will implement a four-week shutdown of restaurants, bars, cinemas, theaters and some other such facilities beginning Nov. 2. 
 * German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said November will be a critical month in the country’s response to the pandemic.

  2. Lockdowns don't work and will never work. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

    The virus is a problem. The Lockdowns are a bigger problem. As with any pandemic, they burn themselves out in a year or two perhaps three. The affects of lockdown will linger for far longer and take far more lives than the virus ever would or could. Of course Anon at 9:03 could be on to something!!
