A mysterious monolith that was found in the remote Utah desert has been removed by an 'unknown party' after its sudden arrival sparked theories it was left by aliens.
The shiny triangular pillar, which protruded approximately 12 feet from the red rocks in southern Utah, was spotted last Wednesday by baffled local officials counting bighorn sheep from the air.
However the three-sided structure was removed by 'an unknown party' on Friday evening, the Bureau of Land Management Utah said in a statement.

WNU Editor: I am surprised that it lasted this long after it was "found" two weeks ago.
At least were not on buried treasure stories anymore like Oak Island or crop circles. Maybe Mel Gibson will do a movie based on true events?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures do not show close up the edges, the top, or the surface. None of the picture takers were Russian spies. They would have done a better job.
For all we know the 3rd vertical edge, which we cannot see, shows a seam. You could estimate the height and other dimensions form pictures with people for a reference point. Using the density of a few different types of aluminum you could calculate the weight and the choppers that could lift it. Check the logs of choppers in the area.
Or it could be sheet aluminum, hollow or with a styrofoam core.
