Fissures are forming as Republicans decide whether it's useful to cling to Trump — even as he tries to subvert an election — or to distance themselves.
Democrats have pulled off at least one Senate win in Georgia, with another likely to follow. And Republicans are pointing a frustrated finger at Donald Trump.
With control of the Senate at stake in the state’s two races, the president chose to spend weeks peddling baseless claims that Georgia’s electoral system was rigged, fueling an online movement to boycott Tuesday’s election. He demonized the state’s Republican leaders and fractured the local GOP. He ignored calls from his allies to rally in the state sooner. His support for Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue mainly came in the form of the occasional tweet and two rallies, including one on Monday. He blasted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for not heeding his calls for boosted stimulus checks.
So when Democrat Raphael Warnock defeated Loeffler early on Wednesday — and with Democrat Jon Ossoff having a good chance of toppling Perdue — Republicans were quick to blame Trump.

WNU Editor: As this blog predicted before this US senate election ....
.... The media has gone all in for the Democrat candidates .... Why Georgia Needs Two New Senators (Rolling Stone). The betting markets are predicting a Democrat sweep. The Democrat Party is boasting 100,000 new members since the November elections. The Republican Party leadership in Georgia appears to be more focused on battling President Trump than putting their energies into the Senate race
And now I am reading reports that Republican poll monitors were blocked AGAIN from overseeing absentee ballots.
Am I surprised by all of this?
No.
The probability of a Democrat sweep has been obvious for weeks. After all the systemic irregularities that benefited the Democrats last time around were never seriously addressed by Georgia (Republican) officials, coupled with the blocking Republican poll monitors from overseeing absentee ballots last night, this result was a fait-accompli.
And not surprising. The very same Republican officials and politicians who have been battling President Trump rather than putting their energies into the Senate race are now blaming him for this loss.
Will they succeed?
I doubt it.
President Trump predicted this, and there are now hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters in Washington DC backing him up (LIVE: President Trump addresses supporters gathered in Washington, D.C.).
But this is all for naught.
President-elect Biden will be inaugurated on January 20, and he will be having a Democrat controlled Congress behind him to push their agenda.
The ability to influence low information voters has been a game changer.
ReplyDeleteAny Republican blaming Trump for the loss and does not blame the banning o poll watchers or addressing the systemic irregularities are the people you need to sucker punch and worse.
ReplyDeleteDear Editor--
ReplyDeleteWith due respect, why continue to excuse the simple fact that in 4 years in office, the GOP lost the House, The Senate and the Presidency. That is simply not the fault of MSM, the usual excuse used so often here.
If there were election irregularities, do they amount to 7 million that Biden got over Trump in the popular vote? And the court cases, one after the other that were dismissed, mostly by GOP appointed judges.
Now we can badmouth the voters and call them names but in so doing we also imply a distaste for democracy as a given in our constitution.
Much as the Democrats ran a poor campaign in the previous election. They learned. They got over it. They moved on. Time for the GOP to do the same.
Still a liar clerky! The next 4 years are going to be fun. How's lying in that bed you made working out clerky?
DeleteFred, the guy who speaks so many words vacuously.
ReplyDelete"Much as the Democrats ran a poor campaign in the previous election. They learned. They got over it."
Sure Fred. That is why they impeached him during the election cycle.
"Time for the GOP to do the same."
Do you know what a monotonically increasing sequence is? Do you know why the concept is important or applies to this situation?
Do you know what double digit inflation does to savings? You retirement might hit a rough patch. This thief called Biden, who you voted for, is playing footsies with China. China is trying to dethrone the dollar, which is as much warfare as a trade war. It has been trying to dethrone the dollar for over a decade. I'll give you a hint. That means they have been trying since before Trump came on the scene. Biden will spend profligately. Between the two, if or when the USA dollar loses reserve currency status, your retirement will melt like an iceberg in the tropics.
Think before you vote next time.
BTW actuality Biden actually did not steal the election. He is not a thief. He is too far gone to be a thief. The lection was stolen for him. Biden is just the lucky, amoral man in receipt of stolen property.
Reality bites...dummy. LOSER. get over it
ReplyDeleteTrump failing to speak up today at riot and insurrection just cancelled any plans he and Cruz might have for a run for the presidency. Cotton outsmaerted them
Heh, yes reality does bite doesn't it, you know they were mostly in peaceful!
DeleteLololololololo!
Insurrection?
ReplyDeleteSuch loose use of the language.
in•sur•rec•tion►
n. The act or an instance of open revolt against civil authority or a constituted government.
n. A rising up; uprising.
n. The act of rising against civil authority or governmental restraint; specifically, the armed resistance of a number of persons to the power of the state; incipient or limited
Did you take a survey of how many people brought weapons? If 10 people brought weapons and there were 100,000 people were there I don't think the 99,990 people without weapons were intending an insurrection.
Of the 10 that brought weapons, let see who they are and who they work for.
People wanting to get into the faces of elected officials is not an insurrection. It is disorderly conduct or rioting, but not an insurrections and depending on your POV it is no different than a lunch counter protest.
When you watch Ruby Freeman in video run through a stack of ballots 3 times in a row and no elected official do nothing, then your elected officials lose their auctoritas, their mandate of heaven.
Watching the sausage het made in the counting centers on video makes me believe that their is no difference between the USG and the MAFIA.
