Russian Government Asks Google To Lift Restrictions On YouTube Use Of National Anthem

 


MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor said Friday it had asked Google to lift restrictions on publishing videos with the Russian national anthem on YouTube. 

"YouTube blocking the Russian anthem is open and unacceptable insult to all the people of our country", the watchdog said. 

Roskomnadzor said that the anthem, like any other state symbols, could not be subject to copyright.

WNU Editor: There are a few videos of the Russian anthem on YouTube (like the one above). But it is true. I have noticed since last year a lot of Russian anthem videos taken off the platform.
