The Japanese government has asked China to stop imposing anal swab tests for COVID-19 on Japanese citizens. Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato said the government has not received a response from officials in Beijing about whether they would change the testing procedure.

Mr Kato said Japan would continue to ask China to alter the way of testing because of the damage it caused to those who have to undergo the procedure. He said the practice "has not been confirmed [to be effective] anywhere else in the world".

  1. So the anal swab thing is true.

It is not some fly by night thing that media outlets got hoodwinked and erroneously reported.

So vice president Dementia get elected and immediately China goes after US diplomats. And gets away with it.

It can only mean that China is the world's preeminent superpower.

    Thanks Democrats!

  2. 10:04,

Are you trying to lose a halfway decent argument on purpose?

"There are 195 countries in the world today. This total comprises 193 countries that are member states of the United Nations and 2 countries that are non-member observer states: the Holy See and the State of Palestine.. ."

You come across as a raconteur or a firebrand, which makes me honestly wonder, if you work for a nation state or a group.

I think China being discriminatory against other Asians will work as well for it as it did for Japan in the 1940s.

I think the Chinese should not piss off the Indonesian or Malaysians.

They should ally with The Phillipines (And the Indonesian and and Malaysians. Without the Phillipinos on their side the South China Sea will never be secure. If the Chinese stopped treating Filipinos like the Japanese do, they would be surprised out how powerful they are or could be.

They should compromise with the Vietnamese who have ridiculous claims themselves and perhaps take the lines share.

    But nobody asked me.

  5. Anal swabs? There are some gentlemen who would gladly pay for such a service. Watch the British parliament send hundreds of "members" on fact finding tours to China!!! Keep ducking 🙉

  6. I am thinking some of the foreign service officers of either sex did not mind in the least.

    Proof?

There would have been a bigger stink (no pun intended) about it.

In the military they tell you that you can't complain and cant go to the press. You are not part of public affairs. However, they point out that your spouse can.

The spouses of foreign service officers are not writing back to the hometown newspapers?

The first mention of this I know of is in the yellow journalism rag the Washington Compost on February 17th. In the article which was about other things they mention the anal intrusion in paragraph seven (7). That is the covered the story and buried the story. They covered it, so they can say they covered it, but they made sure it would suck up very little oxygen

  7. Vaccine shortage prompts U.S. diplomats to request doses from foreign governments, including Russia

The Washington Compost has a narrative article to bash the US in general A quarter of the way down they go off topic to "cover" the anal swap story and then proceed to bury it.

It is February 17th. Blinkenshit and President Jill are in charge. They cannot administratively how to get covid vaccines to embassy staff and to target the most vulnerable. Those over 65 or perhaps over 50? Do staff in their 20's, 30's or 40's really need the vaccines a month after they come out?

Maybe the major faux pas the Chinese was they were businesslike in administering the anal swab and they did not swirl it around?
