Military And Intelligence News Briefs -- March 3, 2021

BAGHDAD/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Tensions between the United States and Iran simmered on Wednesday after a new rocket attack against Iraq’s Ain al-Asad air base that hosts U.S. forces, which U.S. officials told Reuters fit the profile of a strike by Iran-backed militia.

There were no reports of injuries among U.S. service personnel but an American civilian contractor died after suffering a “cardiac episode” while sheltering from the rockets, the Pentagon said.

President Joe Biden said U.S. officials were examining the incident closely.

  1. An American contractor died. The news organizations are sketchy on the details. The contractor died of a cardiac event. I have my doubts. The government has show a great propensity to lie. FBI and CIA directors lie shamelessly. Was the cardiac event brought on by an over pressure? Did the contractor make it to a bunker? was he shy of it? How close was e to a blast? There were rockets and not ballistic missiles and so had smaller payloads. So maybe we are being told the truth.

Did the contractor do 10 or 20 years in and now is a vet, who was a contractor. Age might matter. They might have be 30 to 55. Dead however is dead. The Iranian government is still responsible.

I am surprised where the Iranian militia were hit. It is a long from Baghdad to Al Bukamal through Indian country. It is a permissive environment for the Shia now. It is deceptive. The Iraqi Shia will never know peace, while they take orders and money form the Iranians. There use to be intermarriage between Sunni and Shia in Baghdad. Al Qaeda are not the only people that messed that up.
