 * Ten rockets hit Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq's Anbar province on Wednesday
 * Military officials said a contractor died of a heart attack during the strike
 * No other casualties have been reported, and responsibility is yet to be claimed
 * Attack was launched from a site around five miles from the base, sources said
 * It is the latest in a series of attacks on US forces in Iraq, and comes after Joe Biden launched his administration's first strike on Iran-backed militants in Syria
 * Attack also comes just two days before Pope Francis is due to visit the country

A civilian contractor has died in a rocket strike against a US airbase in Iraq - just days after President Joe Biden's first airstrike against Iranian-backed militants killed 22 people.

At least 10 rockets hit the Ain al-Asad air base, in Iraq's western Anbar province, at around 7.20am local time from a launcher located five miles from the base.

It is not yet clear who carried out the strikes but it comes days after Biden approved his first airstrike - an attack on two Iranian-backed Shia militia groups in Syria.

  1. Iran is playing with a candle flame at present. Luckily for the moo-lahz DJT is not in office. If this were the case 'ol whisker face would be more circumspect.

  2. The asshole, butt munching media can report that it was a contractor and count beans the way they want to count them.

A contractor is not a soldier and so won't count on the official score card. Well FUCK THAT!

Many contractors are former military, so in my book Iran murdering a contractor is the same as them killing a solider.

If the contractor was Western European, Eastern European, African, Pakistani, Egyptian or Iraqi, I don't care. if we contracted them, they are ours. It is the same as killing a US soldier. Noting like learning Swahili while standing in the chow line from the Kenyans contracted as DFAC security. If they are Iraq or Pakistani and are semi driver or pro9viding goods and service they are ours while on business and until they get home.

When are liberals going to give a damn about people?

Funny liberal reporters are as good at hiding the nationalities of the contractors as they are hiding the perpetrators of crimes in the US. They have long practice.

  3. This is what happens when your response is pathetically weak, it encourages more attacks rather than dissuade.

  4. What Sleepy Joe is going to do? fazman is right and there is now no good solution. No answer means the thing is going to be worse, an escalation will be a good opportunity for Iran to show who is the boss.
Sad to have a senile President.
