Jerusalem Post: Israel's operation against Hamas was the world's first AI war
The IDF used artificial intelligence and supercomputing during the last conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Having relied heavily on machine learning, the Israeli military is calling Operation Guardian of the Walls the first artificial-intelligence war.
“For the first time, artificial intelligence was a key component and power multiplier in fighting the enemy,” an IDF Intelligence Corps senior officer said. “This is a first-of-its-kind campaign for the IDF. We implemented new methods of operation and used technological developments that were a force multiplier for the entire IDF.”
In 11 days of fighting in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military carried out intensive strikes against Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad targets. It targeted key infrastructure and personnel belonging to the two groups, the IDF said.

WNU Editor: As to the recent war. IDF intelligence does not think this ceasefire is going to last long .... IDF Intelligence hails tactical win in Gaza, can’t say how long calm will last (Times of Israel).
IDF is very wise.
ReplyDeleteNo it's not going to last. Rockets will start flying again. This time they will be flying to Iran.
ReplyDeleteTactical win? At best, they destroyed 5% of the enemy's tunnel networks. In other words, they can easily work around that which has been eliminated and they are getting time to rest and rearm. I'm a supporter of Israel but that is some kind of spin!!
ReplyDeleteLast time they went at this was in 2014. That one lasted for seven weeks. As I said at that time, Israel would need at least 7 months to defeat and enemy such as who they were fighting. It's a reasonable assumption that the enemy is stronger now.
"This time they will e flying to Iran." I agree. More on this if time permits. I think I have elaborated on this elsewhere on this site. Israel will eventually take out Iran's nuclear weapons capabilities. Obviously US leadership will need to be kept completely in the dark. It'll be somewhat entertaining to see the looks of shock on their faces as they stammer about trying to explain what happened.
5%
ReplyDeleteYou know that how? Pulled it out of your derrière?
If mlacix said it, it would be believable. He is not positing. No doubt graduated and working hard at a new job for the last 4 years.
While I do not "know" for certain, we can make inferences based upon prior experience and knowledge of the principals involved. It may be to complicated for you but I will try.
ReplyDeleteThere was an article that www.israoubdit.com linked to where Palestinian sources suggested 5% of the tunnel network had been destroyed. Later on Fox News an Israeli source was interviewed. It was clear that the man was spinning. I deal with people in high stress situations daily. Over the years you learn to pick up on such things. I might be able to teach you but it would require that you be teachable which I have serious doubts as to your ability to be taught.
Furthermore we know from prior observation that the Palestinians are a very tough fighting force and I consider it a given they will have improved from last time as will have Israel. In the current situation, the allies of the Palestinians such as Iran appear to be stronger than they were last time around.
Add in the penchant for "western" leaders to have a higher opinion of themselves than is warranted and Israel tends to model themselves after the "west" and 5% may be an over estimate. I'd also assume the Arabs study Sun Tzu and will utilize deception especially knowing "western" tendencies. Also, they wouldn't have had enough time to do significant damage to the Palestinians even if that really is the goal.
5% destruction would be a best case scenario. If Israel is going to do any kind of serious damage to their and our enemies the military effort will need to be more intense and more sustained than it's currently been.
I did not pull this out of my derriere. My analysis and current conclusions are based upon careful observation and study of the situation and the participants. As more information becomes available, I may modify my positions. I've had to do it before!! After all such is the hallmark of serious people.
Careful observation and study is something that perhaps you should try. For what it's worth, I miss the posts of mlacix. His insights were extremely helpful.
Even if we had nothing else observe what's happened in the past and compare with today. Unless the Israelis have come up with some new super weapon or super strategy and the Palestinians are now far weaker than in the past there's simply no way Israel has had time to do any real damage to the Palestinian enemy. 5% destruction would be a reasonable assessment. Even though you may not have been sincere in asking I appreciate you asking how I reached my conclusions.
ReplyDeleteThe link is wrong. It should be www.israpundit.com. I apologize. I typically do not cut and paste links because any facts or figures I post here are easily accessed by even the most rudimentary person. As for analyzing the facts and figures, this requires more effort.
ReplyDeleteOctogenarians fighting over who is the most zealous zog supporter ^
ReplyDelete"Full of shit." My analysis is sound. I'm the other hand, you have nothing to offer. I will reiterate. If you have something to contribute, I'm all eyes.
ReplyDelete"Octogenaria" In my case, no. I'm 51. With that said elderly people are often wise.
