NYPost: Reporters have to get quotes approved by White House before publishing: report
White House reporters are seething over a policy that requires them to submit quotes from interviews with Biden administration officials to the communications team for approval, editing or veto, according to a report on Tuesday.
The White House is demanding that reporters who conduct interviews with administration officials do so under conditions known as “background with quote approval,” Politico reported.

ReplyDeleteGuy also made quite a splash. He is quick to tell you about the IDF membership shaking hands with Wiesenthal (on at least 2 websites). He mentions those 2 "facts" to prove his Jewish and pro-Israel credentials. Yet, you never see him sticking up for Israel in any definite manner.
This is the guy who has commented that you can say rightwing but not leftwing.
This is a guy, who will come out of the wood work, so fast if a prominent Democrat is criticised. A lot of conservative will criticise 1/3rd to 2/rds of prominent Republicans as well as most every Democrat. So how in the guy's mind it is alright to criticise a Republican, but don't you dare criticise a Democrat!

DeleteThe practice allows the White House an extra measure of control as it tries to craft press coverage. At its best, quote approval allows sources to speak more candidly about their work. At its worst, it gives public officials a way to obfuscate or screen their own admissions and words.
