Six months. The Afghan government is estimated to collapse six months after a withdrawal of U.S. troops. Politics should never come before our national security interests. The President must reconsider his plan to withdraw all American troops from Afghanistan by September. https://t.co/AWVSUdggwA

WNU Editor: In the comment thread for the above posts by Senator Romney the response is overwhelmingly negative. Americans want to be out of these forever wars. This is one reason why having a public hearing on the authorizations for use of military force in Iraq is so important. We need to hear from @StateDept & @DeptOfDefense officials before making seemingly rushed decisions that could impact national security. https://t.co/nqNmVa8DOW

Upon reflection Romney has a point, however the US presence in Afghanistan must be as only a part of an international effort. I suggest the US make up 10-15% of stabilization troop effort in Afghanistan, with NATO nations making up the balance. This would keep Afghanistan from being used as an ISIS base of operations to attack the west and also allow experience in coordination of operation with NATO allies.
ReplyDeleteThe Mitt Romneys (RINO!) are what's wrong with America, them and the corrupt Democrats of course.. never trust a Romney -- he was PRO offshoring, PRO sending your jobs to China, he made MILLIONS of buying up, destroying and reselling companies, with tens of thousands losing their jobs thanks to him

ReplyDeleteGermany took a very small sliver of Afghanistan to assist. It was the safest place they could find and as far away from Pakistan as they could find.
NATO providing 85%, Germany and France with decent economies will not work anywhere hard as Britain did or does. Britain has issues, big issues. That said if Germany and France supported the US as much as Britain did, people would take it seriously.
Mittens wants a debate on the war powers act.
ReplyDeleteReally?
He was sworn in o January 3, 2019.
Where was Mittens all through 2019 and 2020? Why did he not bring it to the floor?
