TASS: Another world war impossible at this moment, Kremlin spokesman believes
According to Dmitry Peskov, it is difficult to overestimate the importance of nuclear parity because it is a mechanism that "stabilizes the entire system of international relations"
MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. A major war is currently impossible because of the nuclear parity, Kremlins spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview Thursday, answering a question on a potential world war with the use of nuclear weapons.
"Can a war happen? Putin said it clearly [during the Direct Line] that this is unlikely. We are being safeguarded by the nuclear parity," Peskov said.
According to Peskov, it is difficult to overestimate the importance of nuclear parity because it is a mechanism that "stabilizes the entire system of international relations."
"Attempts to disrupt this parity are being made constantly, and Russia took a number of measures to safeguard the entire system of nuclear parity," Peskov said.

Update: Nuclear Weapons Make World War 'Impossible,' Kremlin Spokesperson Says (Newsweek)

"Never say never."
ReplyDeleteI agree...unfortunately.
Russia should hope so. Whatever a third world war would mean for NATO, US/ASIA and China, Russia would end up an annex of whatever was left of the Sino State.

ReplyDeleteI still want to believe Putin is playing Xi,BUT...
Thin of it this way
There's currently 3 military super powers:USA, CHINA, RUSSIA
2/3 , ie almost 67% of those countries are ruled by a system opposed to democracy.
If you count by people it's even worse, about 1.6bn vs 400mn (only counting these 3 countries).. so a 4:1 ratio
Of course you could say but what about India it's a 1bn+ democracy. True.. but they also have a cast system still. And they're not a military superpower (albeit I admit they have nukes)
My bigger point is this:
We THINK democracy is on the advance, but it's really not. For me personally, living in the UK and being European by birth, I always wanted a grand European union with democracy for all. BUT after having seen and lived it, it's a pretty free life and definitely better than in Russia or China (and even the US for that matter), BUT the democratic process is absolutely opaque, ie not transparent. Brussel is dictating a lot and to us it feels like Washington dictating and being out of touch. That's the reason why the UK left the European union (that and Merkel's immigration "plan" that felt like an assault on Germany, UK, France and other European countries who had to deal with this fallout. Just like the Democrats bring in cheap labour under the pretext of humanity. They'r liars and corporate thugs.
On top, our corruption is almost as bad as in the USA. Not as bad by a stretch, but it's getting there. And brussel is the hub for it, where Chinese do their bidding send our voices are ignored. THIS corrupt centralization is creating a similar corrupt oligarchy in our countries, who are brought to power and wealth by Chinese billionaires and near trillonaires weaponizing the previously stolen money from the west against us to transform our societies in a surveillance state in which dissent against the corrupt oligarchy who works for china is silenced.
Fix this and remain free people, ignore it and the west will very soon be ruled by global oligarchs who use the surveillance state and laws against dissidents and likely call you terrorists for daring to suggest corrupt and compromised are put in place to steal from us and subdue us!!
