New Covid-19 Mutant Strain Detected In South Africa Has 'Concerning' Number Of Mutations

Daily Mail: 'Most mutated Covid variant so far' detected in South Africa may already be EXTINCT, scientist claims 

* Some experts raised fears that C.1.2 was more transmissible than other strains 

* But experts said today there was no sign the mutant strain was spreading 

* And they said it may even have gone extinct amid the spread of the Delta strain 

A new Covid variant which has been branded the 'most mutated so far' may already be extinct, it was claimed today. Concerns were raised that the mutant strain — dubbed C.1.2 — could be more infectious than other variants and better able to evade vaccines. 

But experts said today there was no sign the mutant strain had managed to gain a foothold in South Africa — where it was first identified — or any other country.

  1. If they go for another lockdown, push the passports or come for our rights under the pretext of a pandemic, we must have special elections, trial them and make a reasonable public example out of them (at least decades prison and hard labour)
